Goodbye Best Buy - Hello Circuit City
So I decided that it was time to graduate to a GOOD camera finally. I've been eyeing the Canon Powershot Elph SD 1100 IS - in Pink of course...I went back and forth over different brands and models, but kept coming back to this lovely pink canon. The best of all worlds. Slim, good quality camera, great quality pics, and best of all, in Pink...so it totally matches my cell phone.
So after the gym, I made Seymen take me to Best Buy to buy this camera. After browsing and testing the floor model, I decided I couldn't live one more day without the camera, so we found a salesperson and asked for the Pink SD1100 IS PS. The guy looked in his little camera compartment...no luck. He went somewhere else and came back to break the bad news...Best Buy only carries the Blue Canon PS Elph SD 1100 IS. Not pink and not silver. (Figure that one out for me please...I mean for real, who really buys a blue camera? ;-) LOL JK JK...But seriously, if you want to market to the girlie girl like me, you should better carry the pink version...or at least the boring silver version which at that point, I would have settled for because I was so intent on buying.
Anyway, I dejectedly gave up and resigned myself to the thought that I just couldn't get a new camera before my Europe trip Friday...But to be safe I called Staples (no such luck, only available online) and then we drove to Circuit City as an afterthought.
Well, we walk into CC. I found my camera right away. I asked the sales girl they carried my wonderful pink camera in the store...She pauses...*DRAMATIC PAUSE*..."Yes! We do". At those three wonderful words my excitement got the best of me. I yelped, jumped up and down and clapped my hands in joy. Seymen of course rolled his eyes and laughed at my own dramatic response...but I am now very pleased to say that I am the proud owner of a Pink Canon Powershot Elph SD 1100 IS point and shoot camera. And Seymen, not to be outdone, is now the proud owner of Mario Kart + steering wheel for the WII!
**Oh and you can't beat this...The main feature I was looking for was Night Shot ability...This camera has it...and the icon for the night shot...you'll never believe it...the Effiel Tower with a moon next to it. How perfect is that? The whole reason I wanted this camera is so I can finally get that Night Shot of the Effiel Tower in the background...because my crappy camera wouldn't do it two years ago!
Here's my first pics!

Bike Ride
So for my first day of training for the Tour de Cure, Laura and I rode our bikes from my house to her parents house in Macedon. I think we rode close to 20 miles...
I think I should be OK for this Tour de Cure ride of 40 miles...but I'm a little worried because the race is in the beginning of June, and I am traveling for 3 out of the 4 weeks in May! :-( Hopefully I can squeeze some more training in there!
Anyway, here's a map of our route today.

European Vacation!
So it's official! My friend Laura and I are taking a mini-european vacation in May!! I made the last of the accomodations this morning. I had a meeting scheduled in London, so to tack on a long weekend vacation to the meeting, we are going to Paris and then London for a week. I'm super excited to spend some more time in Paris! And coincidentially, it just happens to be Laura's Birthday that week, and mine the week after...I guess you can't beat Girls Birthday Celebration in Paris!!

Spring is Here!!
So we had such a lovely weekend. The weather was AWESOME. Seymen and I had our first outside bike ride of the Season on Saturday. We were able to ride from our house right to the bike shop to buy supplies to fix both of our bikes...Seymen had a bum-back break. I somehow lost the ability to change my back gears...and then my back tire needs a changing ;-)...but those are all "easy enough" fixes for Seymen to make ;-)
Sunday was outside "Gardening Day". After our usual morning spinning classes, Seymen and I spent the rest of the day outside trying to finish our fall clean up ;-) hehehe. After we did the hard labor of raking out the garden, and bagging all the leaves, we then headed to Walmart with the intention of getting a few bags of mulch to finish covering the garden...
Well two power-lawn tools, and 8 bags of mulch later ;-) Seymen left a very happy person. We finally own a leaf blower/muclcher/vacuum and electric hedge trimmer ;-)
