Curtains!
So the project this weekend was to get our new bedroom curtains hung up!

We all worked VERY VERY hard...to assist Seymen with the Curtain hanging procedure...

It was touch and go there for a little bit...but we finally got it done...And they look AWESOME! And our Room is FINALLY super dark :-) I can't wait for this weekend to have the opportunity to sleep in with our new curtains!

Topsy Turvy Cake
It's been a long time since I blogged about any cake decorating classes!! Well I've signed up for yet another Cake decoration class in Cali...(yes I've completely exhausted the cake decorating classes in Rochester...there are no others to be found...) Anyway, the next class that I'm taking is the Topsy Turvy Cake class. This time though, the class is in Berkley, CA...
Here's a sample of what we are making!

Ready to get a little wacky? In this class you will create and take home a two-tier topsy turvy cake. Learn techniques to trim cakes that tilt both vertically and horizontally and construction techniques to stabilize the cake for presentation. You'll decorate your cakes in brightly colored fondant polka dots, diamonds and whimsical flowers. Experience not required for this class. You will be guided one step at a time the entire way.

Gallery Fixed!!
I FINALLY fixed my picture gallery! You'll notice a "New Pictures" section on the right. I've migrated over to Google PICAS pics :-) We'll see if it's any good.

A Girls Best Friend
Just sitting here with my best friend this week...who has been intent on postining herself into the foot space under my desk, and sleeping on my blanket right at my feet. She's got a mighty snore, but she's so darn cute...

Happy Valentine's Day!

New Chair
Seymen and I decided today that we're buying a new chair for the living room. We tested out having a chair in the corner, next to the TV at the black tie affair, and it seemed to work out really nicely. So we're taking the step and ordering the new chair.

Black Tie Affair
So Saturday night we finally had the Black Tie Affair. We've been talking about this for over 6 months, planning, and just being excited. Of course everything went so smoothly. I think all stars had been aligned in our favor to make sure everything went well.
We had so much fun!! Everyone was all dressed up, tuxes and all. The drink tent on the deck outside worked perfectly (as well as the portable heater donated by a family friend). We had a beautiful floral arrangement donated by Corkey from Personal Designs Florist (who just so ironically, we are making a website for.), lots of food...and my FAVORITE...the CHOCOLATE FONDUE FOUNTAIN. Which was a huge hit, and not THAT difficult to clean up.
Here's pics from the Black Tie Affair we hosted Saturday night:

Back in my Home Away from Home!
Well, I'm back in my home away from home! Ahhh, sunny Cali! I landed at 12:30 PST, to a bright sunny 50 degree day. I headed straight to the office where I had a fun reunion with all my co-workers. It's really funny that it's been two months since I've seen them, and really missed them! Anyway, so much fun seeing everyone. I now officially have plans every night this week, and pretty much the entire two weeks that I'm out here in march are now booked. :-D Yeay!
Anyway, as happy as I am to be out here for a week, I do love my own home more... ;-)

Cycle for Hope
Seymen, Laura, Nate and I participated in Cycle for Hope this past weekend. Laura and I decided that this was a perfect opportunity to:
1. Spin for a good cause
2. Check out mid-town spinning bikes, for FREE
3. Have Seymen and Nate finally try spinning :-)
As it happened, RNEWS came into our class and video taped and took pics of our session. You can see Laura and I think Nate :-) (Click here to see the article).
