Ugly Betty

So I've started watching Ugly Betty and I'm 100% addicted. LOVE it!! I'm totally addicted. I've stayed up until 1AM for the past two nights watching it! Anyway, it's so funny...and I am obsessed with it :-)

Come a LONNNG WAY!

So I've come a LONGGGGG way in the past year...I went to the dentist for my 6 month cleaning, and I actually have to say...I don't mind going to the dentist at ALL anymore! My hygienist is AWESOME. She is super nice, and talks to me the whole time. We are mutual friends with Elvie, who is mine and Seymen's friend through Thuan and Chau.

Anyway, she's so nice. She had me cracking up in the chair today. We were talking about going on trips and forgetting your stuff, (ex: toothpaste and deoderant for me ;-) and then how people smell...it evolved into the funniest conversation. I think I was disrupting other patients because the two of us were laughing so loud ;-)

So, yeah, a year ago, I entered the dentist office (on a recommendation from Alex) almost in tears due to the nervousness of the possibility of having to have a root canal. 1 year later, my teeth have a CLEAN bill of health! I have very little "build up", my gums look GREAT! And I'm relieved!!! :-) (THANK YOU SONICARE! ;-)

I really don't think I mind the dentist office... :-) I never thought I'd say that. And to think I always thought Alex was crazy because he said he "Liked" going to the dentist ;-) I can finally understand :-)

On a Mission

I'm on a mission. I have two goals for myself...

Goal #1: Working out at the gym...to work off my socializing in California!

I've been back to the gym for two days now. Monday night I took my cardio kick class, and tonight I decided to give Cycling a try. OMG. OK, cycling is purely for masocistic people. It was so hard. I think I worked off the past two weeks of eating out in 45 mins. Holy cow. I'm super sore already and it's only been 45 mins since I came home. But it feels good. My goal is go to the gym at least 4 times a week for the next 3 weeks...so I can start all over again after my trip to Florida...That's the only bad part of traveling (other than being away from the Sey-dog), is no time/energy to go to the gym.

Goal #2: Work on actual decorations for our house.

My goal was to have the Black Tie affair in December. Unfortunately, my travel schedule and Christmas isn't going to allow for that plan. So, after much consultation with my family/friends ;-) I've decided to change it to an Early Valentine's day Black-Tie Affair! I'm super excited for it. I've already bought the invitations... ;-) But I want to have some actual tangible decorations up. All spring and summer, the changes we made were "Necessary Structural" changes...such as a new roof, gutters, insulating the overhang, cutting down trees...etc. Nothing that "fun" ;-) that we can visually have satisfaction from...

So the winter plan (in my mind...it's still very much debatable in Seymen's mind hehheehe.) is to paint the office, hang the curtains (yes we've had them since August) rebuild the bookshelves. Re-do the bathroom, as in tear down walls, add new walls, retile, paint, get a new bathtub, new counter tops...etc. Also, new ceiling fans. Repaint the master bedroom, get curtains, hang them ;-) Build an island in the kitchen with a new stove top, and double ovens. OMG yeah, so probably none of that will happen especially since I'm gone two weeks out of every month from now until May ;-) but it's nice to dream right?

On the Move Again

I'm on the move again, and still making plans...seems they never end. I think that I will be traveling for the rest of my life :-)

Anyway, I finally have my first EKB Ink customer :-) Yeay!!! I just got hooked up today! I can't wait to get home and start wokring on my new evening project!

Anyway, I'm pretty tired tonight. Just hanging out in front of the TV...trying to decide if I should watch Miss Congeniality or catch up on last week's desperate housewives episode that I missed when flying across the country last Sunday...

Flickr or What?

So I'm trying to decide if I should just bag my current photo site (which if you've looked lately, it's completely ruined. I accidentially deleted half my pictures from it and it now takes hours to get them back up and reorganized...) OR if I should move completely to Flickr.

Thoughts??

I kind of don't really like the layout...but it's so easy to upload with the local uploader...I just wish it would show just the sets...and individual URL links for each set.

Anyway, here's some more cake pics. THis is the babyshower cake that I made for my friend Erin's babyshower. Unfortunately, I was in CA the week before the shower, so I had to freeze and fedex the cakes in dry ice. (Well technically, Seymen had to fedex the cakes ;-) But anyway, they made it there...only they were a bit banged up, and when Maki took the top off...well let's just say the baby's head was missing as was it's blanket...and the teddy bear was hiding in the sweet pea border ;-) Oh and the petit fours were all sorts of messed up! (But it all tasted good...so I guess that's what counts)

Home Sweet Home

Well I made it back home again. So glad to be home. It was a long week and a long weekend of traveling, but everything went so smoothly, and I had a great time in New Hampy. The cake made it there in there in one piece as well...Well it slid a little, and the baby ended up decapitated ;-) but I fixed it as best I could...and Erin love it, so that's all that matters :-)

Anyway, last night Seymen and I jumped in full force to finish the deck stairs. We (and as in we, mostly Seymen) painted the stringers...and then ditched the project in order to have an impromptu very informal dinner and wine night with our new neighbors. They brought a bottle of wine and cheese, and we provided reuban sandwhiches and rice-a-roni (yes, my completely depleated cupboard had absolutely NO food...and both containers of milk were sour...I'm in dire need of groceries).

It was a great night and we were ALLLL caught up on the gossip of the neighborhood. Both ourselves and our neighbors are getting some major backyard work done. Last weekend, Seymen had the two cottonwood trees in our yard removed, the neighbors are building a new retaining wall, and having their chimmney fixed. So we have trucks parked in the driveway, driving all over the side garden and yards :-) But we're trying to coordinate all the work, so that both lawns can be re-seeded and fixed for next spring. On the same token, we're trying to fix the front steps before the Wednesday so the chimmney guy can access it :-)
