Does Anyone Like to Cook?
Does anyone like to cook?!? I was just surfing around trying to find some cake decorating supplies and ran into the website for the New York Wine and Culinary Center. I'm so excited! I am totally signing up for some classes! This is GREAT! Just what I was hoping to have in Rochester, but didn't realize we had! It's just like my San Francisco Pastry classes!! WAHOOO :-)
Let me know if you want to COOK! We can take a class together! :-D

Glutton for Self-Embarrassment
I'm a glutton for self-embarrassment. I've joined another softball league this fall :-) Jena organized an LMNK softball team...so last night was our first practice...While I didn't injur myself or anyone else last night, I definitely realized how 100% completely horrible I am at softball. This league is co-ed and it's just painfully apparent that I've never really played softball before :-) Oh yeah, and that I can't throw or bat ;-). I can catch...once in a while ;-) hehehehe.
Anyway, everyone had a turn at bat to practice hitting. I sucked out completely. Out of the probably 40 pitches I received, I hit maybe 3 of them. It was so embarrassing...everyone stood out in the field twiddling their thumbs hoping for some action...but unfortunately...there was none to come for them ;-)
As a weekend resolution, I am DEFINITELY hitting up the batting cages this weekend, and when I'm not there, I'm going to be practicing hitting on the WII. Yes...even video game baseball would help me improve a little bit, I'm that bad!

Anti Sony? or Anti Vista?
So, I was really bummed because as soon as I arrived at home, my new laptop of two months broke. It wouldn't move past the welcome page, just sat there loading...So I called Sony for Tech support, but they were basically no help. Said I'd need to restore my hard drive, which is BS because all my pics and e-mail are stuck on the machine, and I of course didn't back anything up the entire time I was in CA since my external drive was in Rochester. (Great safety precaution right ;-)
Anyway, I really didn't think it was my hard drive being corrupted because it was booting up, it just hung on a Windows screen...but still, the frustration of not being able to get on was driving me insane. Finally, Seymen decided to take it into his own hands (screw Sony!)...He started doing some research online and we realized that the latest windows update corrupted my account. He created another account and was able to log into my machine. PHEWWW! He even managed to get my account to load up again, although it would load as a temp account, so no settings will be saved. Anyway, I spent all night last night going in and backing up all my data. I even was able to access my old e-mail boxes so I could backup my e-mail from the past two months. PHEWWW!
I'm so relieved that I was able to save everything. But note just a note...I'm definitely 100% against Windows Vista. Too many bugs. I'm switching back to XP. And as for Sony. They suck too. What happened to the high quality machines they used to make. My last Sony, I bought 5 years ago, and it still isn't dead, it's just slow and has too little space...It is going to turn into my kitchen recipe holder/internet browser/TV. I'm pretty dissapointed with the Sony quality...

Yummy Chicken Salad Recipie
So my sister made this recipie for me when I was visting her over the summer. It is delicious. I just found it online. We replaced the radicchico leaves with leaves of lettuce...Got the recipie from the Real Simple magazine.
Chicken Salad in Radicchio Cups

1 3 1/2- to 4-pound rotisserie chicken
4 medium carrots, shredded
6 scallions (white and light green parts), thinly sliced on the diagonal
1 tablespoon fresh tarragon, roughly chopped
Kosher salt and pepper
2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
3 tablespoons white wine vinegar
1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
2 heads radicchio, leaves separated
Using a fork or your fingers, shred the chicken meat, discarding the skin and bones. In a large bowl, combine the chicken, carrots, scallions, tarragon, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper.
In a small bowl, whisk together the mustard, vinegar, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Slowly add the oil in a steady stream, whisking constantly until emulsified. Divide the radicchio leaves among individual plates, spoon the chicken salad over the top, and drizzle with the vinaigrette.
Substitution: If you find radicchio too peppery, spoon the salad into Boston or Bibb lettuce leaves. Or serve it in endive leaves, as fork-free hors d'oeuvres.
Yield: Makes 4 to 6 servings

Home Again!
Hi! So it's been a few days! I'm finally home! We pulled into Rochester on Tuesday night and since then I have been trying to re-acclimate myself to being home, seeing Seymen again, and being back on the east coast time zone :-)
Anyway, I've pretty much hit the ground running, as things at work have seemed to pick up overnight. That and trying to catch up with things here.
Seymen and I are back on the decorating/house fixing up projects again. We now have a few more decorations, but have yet to find the time to hang them :-) And last night we finally picked up the rest of our dining room table chairs. One night SOOON we are going to have a FORMAL dinner at the dining room table :-)
Anyway, this weekend is going to be a bad weekend for getting anything done, as Seymen and I are driving up to our cottage in the 1,000 Islands on Saturday AM. Oh well, there's always next weekend!

Refreshed!!
So I finally had some sleep this morning. Yesterday, we officially finished all of our work and responsibilities. Phewww!!! I finished up around 6:00PM, after the longest day of my life ;-) Afterwards, I took an hour to refresh before joining the celebration festivities. Even though I thought I was so tired I would die, after 5 days of no sleep, I actually surprised myself ;-) I ended up staying out partying with friends until 4AM!!! And I wasn't even tired! They FOR SURE pump oxygen into the air. Because I was WIDE awake when i went to bed at 4.
But I finally slept in and feel GREAT now. I spent the afternoon at the pool and now I'm just hanging out waiting for Kris and Shannon to arrive.
In the mean time, here's some pictures from the Aerosmith Concert:

Barely Surviving!
OMG so I am barely surviving the craziness here in Vegas. It is just CRAZY here. I can't even tell you how just CRAZZZZZZYY!!! it is! I'm getting to the point where I'm so tired, but just don't want to stop having fun. I've had some of the most amazing food...amazing drinks...instant tan from 4 hours at the pool, seen 4 different hotel/casinos now... (Mandalay Bay, Ceasers Palace, the Veneitian, and MGM Grand)...
Tonight I'm trying to take it slow by getting to bed early since I have to be up and to rehearsals at 7AM, after a 30 minute walk through the Casino to the convention center...but my evening of going to be early has started at 11:00PM...I don't know how it's going to work out...but I'm bound and determined to take a bath in my luxury bath tub while watching TV on my Bathroom TV!!! HAHAHA!!!
Ohh yeah and tomorrow...after getting down to business all day...We have a Cisco Only - Aerosmith Concert...followed by an early morning start at 7AM again ;-) Like I said, I'm barely surviving. I'm going to need a vacation after this week ;-)

Out with Netflix in with Books Free!
So Seymen and I discussed it and we are thinking about cancelling netflix. I never thought I'd say this, but we are netflixed out. I seriously believe we're never going to make it to the end of our queue list. It's just too long.
We've decided instead...to invest our money in Books Free.com. It's similar to Netflix, only instead of movies, you get books! You can get books on CD/MP3 or Regular paperback books! I'm really excited for this service, becuase to be honest I spend WAYYYYYY more money on books than I do videos. I think this is a much more cost effective plan.
And maybe now, Seymen will read a few more books too. :-)
