Latest Cake
Here's the cake that I made for my last cake class @ Michaels. Unfortunately, it is the last of the 4 classes offered there...so from here on out...I'm on my own ;-) Well until my Petite Fours class in a 2 weeks ;-)

The $100 Nickel
Have you ever seen a nickel worth $100? I bet not! Well, I have to say, unfortunately, I witnessed one today. Apparently, I somehow managed to get a nickel stuck in the steering column of my car. I took it to the car service center and after much discussion of whether it could be loose change, or a broken component, my steering column was dismantled and diagnosed as a nickel...Worth about $100. It's a rare one. I think I will frame it and hang it in my house ;-)

Custom Framing
So I found the greatest custom framing guy! His place is right around the corner from our house. He's this sweetest little old man. He gave me a 25% discount because he said that I look like a student, and his prices for framing two posters and cutting 6 mattes was half the price of Michaels and done in less than half the time it would have taken Michaels! I love him!! I love his so much that I made Seymen go with me yesterday to meet him and check out his shop. Apparently he has a gallery there too where Seymen found this one painting that he really liked...We are still considering it...because it doesn't really go with the "THEME" in our house...but he keeps talking about it...so maybe we'll MAKE it go with the theme ;-)
On a side note, last night at about 11:00PM, I decided that we need to hang pictures...so Seymen and I pulled out the laser level and started hanging them...Well let me just tell you...I HATE hanging pictures with wires! Apparently, neither Seymne nor I are talented at that ;-) because the 3 pics on the wall look more like steps than a straight line.
Too bad the laser level can't identify wire legnth and tension ;-) But either way, I feel better about our house now that we have 4 pictures hung...and maybe a total of 9 if I can get someone to help me hang the kitchen pictures!! :-)

Techie Things
SO I did it! I bought myself a new computer finally! After 5 years, it's time to retire the old Sony VAIO PCG-FXA63! But it's HELLO to my NEW Sony VAIO! This one is great! I have a wide screen, with built in camera, microphone, DL DVD burner, SUPER light!! Super CUTE!!! SUPER FAST!!! Tons of HD space...Think 200GBs will suffice? ;-)
I'm so excited...Not so sure about the whole Vista thing...but I guess with time I will come to like it...DEFINITELY not a big fan of the whole tabbed internet thing...but oh well...I guess I must conform with the times.
Another big techie purchase that we made is a Survelience camera! So anyone thinking about doing anything bad to our house...WATCH out! We will have you on camera. Anyway, it's great. It's very high tech, and it e-mails us when it senses motion. We no longer have to be worried about our house. If I hear a noise in my office and I'm too scared to get up, I can log into my camera and check out what's going on...from the safety of my own laptop ;-) It's a whimpy techies dream come true ;-) hehehehehe!

My Latest Obsession
So, I have a new obsession...in addition to all the other ones that I already have ;-)...But here's the thing...Ever since I quit working at LMNK, I have gained weight...and now I am supposed to be in a wedding in two weeks, minus 1 day. I've been trying, (unsuccessfully) to lose some weight...or maybe not weight, but some "pudge" if you will.
Well, I finally decided, no more Mrs. Nice Guy...I'm going to do some hard core working out...so I started taking the Cardio Kick/Turbo Kick classes @ the gym. WOW!!! The classes are AWESOME! They are definitely kicking my butt! Whether I'm actually loosing weight or not, I do feel much better about myself and my workout. I am sore pretty much 24/7 so something MUST be working somewhere! ;-)
In addition, I have fully banned myself from MOST potatoe products. Yes, can you believe it...The french fries queen is no longer eating french fries. It's been...hmm...3 days since my last french fry. Wish me luck!!! The tator tots were hard enough to give up...but FRENCH FRIES...OMG...that obsession goes all the way back to my AQ days!!!!

Latest Class
So the next class that I have signed up for is:
Petit Four Glace
Get ready for a stunning display at your next brunch or dinner party. These gorgeous cakes are nary an inch high, yet pack an intense flavor from almond scented cake sandwiched between paper thin layers of raspberry filling. We'll finish the cakes with poured fondant and garnish them with romantic pink and red buttercream flowers and stems. Each student will create and take home their decorated cakes.

Georgia's Cake
So it just worked out perfectly this week that I was required to bring a cake to class last night, and we are celebrating Georgia's birthday on Thursday...so I after class, I redecorated my cake for her birthday.
Seymen said he thinks it's my best cake yet...but I am still partial to the Easter cake :-)

2nd RV Trip
So we're going on our 2nd RV trip today. Heading to Columbus, OH for the weekend to welcome my grandparents to their new home. Should be fun...Chrissy plans to bring a box of wine and Seymen handed over our DVD collection to my dad to bring in the RV. For once, I'm not really dreading the 7 or 8 hour drive to Ohio. I definitely won't be getting leg cramps...My plan is to lay in the back bedroom with Chrissy and Seymen, drinking red wine from a box, watching DVDs. We'll see how long it takes for me to get car sick ;-)
The good news is that since my two step-brothers are coming now, Chrissy, Seymen, and I don't have to sleep in the RV, and get actual beds at my uncle's house. Phewwww. I mean I'm all about RV-ing it up...but if there's an available bed within 10 feet of myself, then I'm all for the bed! :-)
Anyway, I'm most looking forward to go out drinking with my cousins after the party...Hopefully we'll be able to party it up in Columbus ;-)

Poor Bird
So I am sitting at my desk, and suddenly I heard a loud thud on the glass door in the office. I look over, and see a brown ball falling onto the deck. At first I thought it was a squirel playing around, but on closer inspection, I realized that it was a poor little bird. It flew right into the window. It tried to get up and fly again, but it was disoriented and shaking it's head...and then flew back into the window again. Now it's just sitting there...has been for about 10 mins. It's little mouth is totally open, and he's breathing heavy...He keeps looking around, but making no effort to get up and start flying again. I feel sooooooooo bad for it. I want to go outside and give it water or ice or something. I just keeps staring at me and I feel like I need to do something. Maybe I'll go give it a pep-talk or something...
Poor little bird!
Ohh wait! It stood up and finally closed it's mouth. His head is cocked to one side...I think he's assessing the height of the room...Wait now he's staring directly at ME. I'm a little freaked out now.

It's OFFICIAL!!! We're Going to VEGAS!!!
Seymen made his official decision last night!! He's going to meet me in Vegas in the middle of August!! It's going to be GREAT! We're trying to get some friends to join us, and my dearest friend Kris, who has so enthusiastically offered to drive home from Vegas with me, will also be there! PARTY TIME!!!! Neither Seymen nor I have ever been to Vegas! And when he comes, it'll have been the first time I've seen him since July 28th!!! It's going to be a GREAT Trip!! I'm so excited :-) I don't even know what to expect...I'm thinking it's just going to be HOTTTTTER than HECK. Hopefully I won't be completely worn out from working in Vegas the entire week before...
Ohh yeah, and it's also official that Seymen will be joining us in our Brownstein-Family "Reunion of sorts" in Ohio this weekend. I don't know why he was being so agreeable yesterday, but I'm PSYCHED :-) Must have been his good mood over getting a 100 Foot Hose for our yard ;-) hehhehee.
