Memorial Day Weekend
We had a really productive long weekend!! Friday night after work, Seymen and I took a 2 hour bike ride around town. When we finally made it home, I was so tired and sore I thought I wouldn't walk again ;-) It was my first time out this spring/summer...but it sure felt good to ride!! :-)

Saturday we (myself and the other bridemaids) threw Jess her bacholorette Party. It was a totally awesome night. We ended up getting a room at the StrathAllen Hotel, and partied all night. Majorly fun. Here's a pic of the cake I made for her. Unfortunately, the cake was supposed to be a pillow...but it didn't end up looking much like a pillow.

Sunday after laying around a bit, we got up and started working on house projects. I painted the water damaged spot in the front hallway and the siding on the house, where they hadn't painted. Meanwhile, Seymen worked on replacing the florescent light fixtures and bulbs in the kitchen.
Around 3ish, my mom and Bill came over and we did some major garden work. We spent 3 hours pulling weeds, trimming, planting, and spreading mulch around the yard. Here's some pics of my new tomatoe plants and rosebush that I just planted...and the lovely mulch work my mom did.

And here's peakers helping to garden:

After all the back breaking work...we headed to the lake for dinner @ Bill Grays and drinks at Marg's. Here's a shot of the pretty sunset from the bar.

AND LAST but certainly not least!! Monday, Seymen and I spent the day with the NEWEST memeber of our household! PLEASE WELCOME:
R2-D2

We adopted R2-D2 over the weekend. He is our brand new shop vac! He was on sale at Home Depot for the holiday weekend and we LOVE him. He can reach all the way from the floor to the beams on the ceiling of our kitchen...and not only does he vaccume, but he blows air too!!! So, he totally came in handy when sanding our kitchen cabinets (to finish re-finishing them). We are constently amazed by all that R2-D2 can do.
