Bad Luck Continues
So, we had a fun/productive weekend. Unfortunately, on Friday, our bit of bad luck was still with us :-) Seymen, Thuan, Chau and I went to the Casino for the evening. We met Maki there too. Seymen and I both lost 100% :-) But Chau and Maki were the Casino stars!!! Chau kept hitting the jackpot on the $25 machines and Maki hit it twice! Meanwhile, the first machine that I started on, I lost...so I moved to another machine. Probably like 15 minutes later, the guy who got on the machine next hit the total jackpot. He got the highest amount you could get from that machine :-) Later in the evening, Seymen and I decided to gamble with $10. So I picked a machine and started. Meanwhile...Maki said: Ohh you should go on the machine next to it...not the one you are on. We shrugged and continued on our machine. Chau sat down and just for the fun of it, put her winnings in the machine...Well two seconds later she hit the jackpot!! :-)) We were all trying to get close to Chau to see if some of her good luck would rub off on us ;-)
Anyway, it was a really fun night. We only go to the Casino once a year, so it was definitely a fun trip. On our way home, we decided to stop for dinner at Perkins in Buffalo. We didn't get back to Rochester until 4:00AM!! And of course when we got home we had to watch one episode of House, M.D. :-) So, I don't think I went to bed until 5:00AM.
We woke up around 8:30AM (Not too pleased about that at all, but for some reason I couldn't sleep). So, while Seymen went out to do his "Plumber Thing" with his friends, I went out Curtain shopping. I found some nice material but we are still deciding what to do. I have about 0% of an eye for Design...just the guidelines that Seymen gave me: "I want Red Curtains"...so I set out on my quest for Red Curtains. I think the conclusion that we came to is: 1. We need to wait for him to go home and get the Turkish rugs first or 2. We need to send the dimensions of the windows to his mom, so she can have our curtains made for us in Turkey. Either way, the living room is NOT getting decorated anytime soon ;-)
On the other hand...Chrissy, Jake, Seymen, and I went out shopping yesterday...We somehow convinced Seymen and Jake that it was essential that we break up the BJs/Wegmans shopping with Bed Bath and Beyond, and Pier One. While there, we actually agreed on a color for the bathroom (blue), and found a REALLY CUTE kitchen table that matches the color paint in the kitchen!! It's a counter height table, with bright blue/turquios chairs/stools. I think we are actually considering it. Seymen has brought it up at least three other times after we left the store...That's a reallly realllly good sign ;-)
Anyway, we had a really productive weekend I would say. We spent the afternoon cleaning the house (for the cleaning lady that's coming on Thursday), doing laundry, paying bills, decorating with our purchases, and having dinner. Ohhh yeah, I made my first batch of homemade tomatoe sauce! Seymen said that he really liked it! (I thought it was a little tooo sweet) but it was still pretty good and so easy to make. I will definitly be trying that again at some point :-)

New Furniture!!
So Seymen and I went out and bought a new living room set on Monday night! So excited! Thank goodness for President's Day Sales!! It's being delivered today. Here's a little preview of our new furniture..
Anyway, nothing else really new...Danielle and I did our once a month gym experience schedule today...(Where we basically do the tredmill for 5 minutes, go down to the locker room, shower, grab Leslie from work, and head to Perkins for a nice breakfast :-)) It was a lovely work out...especially since my back is still sore from shoveling snow off our front porch.
Ohhh and speaking of new furniture...We went to a family friend's house last night to pick through their basement and take knick-knacks and stuff...Seymen found himself a nice chair for the bedroom that we are going to recover...(currently it's Peakers new bed in our room.) and a Kareoke Machine! I was able to go home with a big basket, and 4 accent pillows (that will go VERY nicely sitting on the Hearth pillows that I'm going to sew!)

Chasing Squirrels
So I'm watching the Peak-a-nator again this week. This afternoon, when I put her outside on the leash, she went and chased a squirrel. Well unfortunately, for Mr. squirrel, she caught him...and at one point picked him up and flung the poor little guy. I made it outside just in time to pull her away from the poor guy, trying to burrow under the snow, but unsuccessfully so. When she came triumphantly trotting over to me, she had a big scratch that was bleeding on her little nose.
I had to take hydrogen peroxide and clean her face up! She was good and let me do it the first time, but after her first expierence with it, she tried to run away :-( Here's a pic of Peakers and her nose scratch.

Home FREEZING Home
So I made it home last night on schedule. Unfortunately, my bags didn't have as much luck as myself...they are stuck somewhere between San Jose and here, most likely in Chicago. Anyway, I arrived in Rochester and spent a good 30 mins. waiting for my bags and then standing in line to track them and have them sent to my house.
We headed home and I promptly went to bed...well tried to at least...no such luck. At 1PM our window in the bedroom started leaking. At 3AM another part of the window started leaking. I woke up around 1AM to Seymen going: "Beth...Help me." I look up and he's holding a trash can and the window blinds in his hands...I'm like...OMG I must be dreaming some bad dream. Unfortunately :-) that wasn't the case, so still half asleep I held the garbage can to the window for what felt like hours.
I couldn't sleep after that because I was over-tired and starving...so I made food around 3AM...and then the next window started leaking, so same process again:
Beth: Seymen just put a container on the window and a towel and go to sleep.
Seymen: Shoot. Damn. %*!*&@^#^%#@. This sucks
Beth: Please Seymen just go to sleep and we can fix it tomorrow.
Seymen: I think I need to get up on the roof.
So this morning I woke up at 8:45AM to Seymen talking to the roofer guy. 3 hours later...gutters removed from the front of the house, and the roof completely shoveled and de-iced...we went outside to check out the work, and see the roof. Seymen was talking to the roofer. I took a look at the roof and then decided that I was WAY too cold to be standing around outside with no gloves on...so I headed back to the garage. On my way back, my foot slipped on the icy snow, and I looked down to see where I was stepping...CRASH! Not remembering that the garage door was half open...I totally walked head first into the garage door. LOL! Seymen and the roofer guy both looked up and go: "Ekkkkkkk...That had to hurt!".
A few minutes later, me laying on the bed laughing hystarically, and crying in pain at the same time...Seymen came in to check on me, and now I have a huge bump the size of an egg on my forehead.
Ahhh, I love being home :-) LOL. So, now today's task: Clean the house because the new house cleaner is coming on Tuesday ;-) hehehehe.

Kind of Excited
Well I'm kind of excited to go home...Although I've really enjoyed my trip out to San Jose and meeting everyone, I'm ready to get back to my own bed...and my regular hours :-) I've been falling alseep so early! Last night I barely made it till 10PM. I completely missed LOST. They were showing last week's re-run and a new episode...but I fell asleep after watching Beauty and the Geek.
I made it to the Cisco store today, which was good...and found presents for Seymen, my dad, and Georgia (they are the ones who will truely enjoy a Cisco T-shirt ;-)) Other than that I didn't buy much else. Tomorrow will be my shopping day ;-) When I head to SAN FRAN!! YEAYYYY!!!
But yeah, back to my excitement to go home...I will really enjoy eating dinner with someone again. I've been eating room service except one night when I had a "work" dinner. (Which was DELICIOUS by the way...) Tonight I decided to be "Heathly"...Beth style...and I ordered a ceaser salad...and in a moment of weakness, an order of french fries ;-) <-- That's the Beth Style healthy ;-). Anyway, the salad came, and I opened the top, and found a full head of romaine lettuce that they cut in half and then drisseled dressing and shavings of cheese on. It was surprisingly tastey, but yes...I ate an entire head of Romaine lettuce for dinner. ;-)
I'm looking forward to eating two things when I get home...
1. Shiki
2. Cabbage soup that I froze up before I left
YUMMMMY...I'm so food oriented! ;-) Anyway, I'm going to go call my sister since I'm on her time now ;-) and I don't want to go to sleep since it's only 7:24PM (even though I feel like I totally could...only problem is, I'd wake up at 5:30AM!)

San Francisco
So I have received approval to take some time during the day on Friday to go to San Francisco! I'm really excited! Another ID is going to take me and show me around :-) I am making a list of things to see:
1. Golden Gate Bridge
2. Trolley Car (Rice-A-Roni - A San Fransico Treat!)
3. Loemans Department Store (Shoe Store!!)
4. Piers/Wharf
That's as far as I've got with my list. I have some more research to do for what else to see...But I have a feeling that's going to keep us pretty busy...Plus I forgot my sneakers, so I will have to tour San Fran in my heels ;-) hehehe.
My plan for tomorrow at some point during the day is to go to the Cisco store :-) I am going to buy Cisco presents for the family ;-) I just checked out the weather too, and it's supposed to by 68 degrees tomorrow. OMG! Thank GODDDD I'm not in Rochester! ;-) (Sorry Rochestarians!) Anyway, my room service dinner just arrives :-) Adios!!

Wishing...
I wish it were spring :-) I went to the mall today with Chris and the girls, and they have all these great sales on these spring outfits. I wish it were spring so I could wear them :-) I can't wait for the times when I can wear skirts and open-toed shoes again :-)
I just bought the cutest linen skirt @ H&M for super cheap. I love it. I tried it on tonight and started this wishful thinking about having warm weather again. I am going to go back this weekend and buy more skirts in the other colors :-)

On my Own
So I'm officially on my own for the rest of the week. My little Peak-a-nator has gone back home. :-( As glad as I am that my mom and Bill are back, I am really sad without the little pooper-scooper.
For the first two nights, she slept on the bed. Width-wise, forming an H with her body and mine and Seymens. :-) After night two of a dog snoring in our faces, and breathing in dog hair, we decided that Peak was getting kicked off the bed...So for the next three nights she slept on the couch. I would wake up in the morning and she would wake up. She'd come into the bedroom, and standing next to the bed, wagging her tail, she would shake the shit out of the bed :-) Once I was up and at 'em, we'd have our morning dance around the kitchen while I prepared her breakfast. After a very QUICK run outside (it was too cold even for her to enjoy staying outside), we would retire to the office...Where I would turn on my heater, close the door (so the entire house didn't need to be heated) and sit in my chair with a blanket on my lap. (can you tell that I'm always COLD?) LOL Anyway...I made a cute little bed for Peak next to my desk, but she didn't like that. Instead, she enjoyed going under my desk, and laying on top of my feet, stealing my blanket :-).
This would continue all day long. Basically, she was my shadow. If I got up to grab something off the bookshelf, Peake would get up to walk with me to the bookshelf. If I got up to go check the mail, Peake would get up to go check the mail. If I got up to go to the bathroom, Peake would get up and go to the bathroom...can you see a pattern here?
Well all that would end once Seymen got home. Peake would ditch me completely and then follow Seymen around for the rest of the night. If Seymen was sitting on the floor trying to fix an outlet, Peake would be sitting on the floor with some part of her body touching Seymen.
But now...this morning, I woke up with no one to talk to as I got ready for the gym. When I came home, I opened the door and didn't hear the sweet little scraping of her nails running across the hardwood floor to greet me as soon as I opened the door...and now I'm sitting in my office, with no little Peakers at my feet. Booooooooooooo...I think I"m in mourning. SOmething is definitely off today...I already hit my head on a sharp edge on my gym locker...I now have a bump the size of an egg on my head.
I think it's just going to be one of those days...where I have to get used to being alone...Thank god I'm going to San Jose on Monday for a week...Otherwise I might just go crazy!!

Course 2 Final Cake - and our First Overnight Guest!
Here's pictures of my course II final cake. It's a white cake with basketweave around the sides, daisys and apple blossoms on the top and side.

So the peak-en-ator has come to visit me and Seymen until Monday. She's been wandering around the house trying out all the different surfaces to find the most comfy spot. Along with her, she brought her two baby puppies. One of which used to be mine (a present to ME from SEYMEN...) which has somehow lost it's nose and collar, and his eyes are all crusty...Ohhh, she just left a smelly gift in the office for me and Seymen. SHe walked in, farted and then left the room to go back on the couch...YUCK. :-)
(We still miss bayley so much...It makes me happy and sad to have Peake here...because I miss my bayley-button...but I love having the peak-en-ator here. I'm still trying to convince Seymen it's OK if she sleeps in the bed with us, under the covers :-))
