End of the Year Entry

Well, it's almost that time...We made it through another year. We have officially finished moving into the new house. This morning Seymen and I set up the master bedroom (finally!). For the past four days, I have been painting non-stop. I started with the closet while Seymen did the ceiling in the bedroom. Finished the closet the next day. The day after that we started painting the walls of the bedroom. My sister and Jake came over and we had a painting party just the four of us. It was really nice and we finished really fast...with only a few mishaps...including a little paint on the carpet and a cut on my thumb :-) but all in all it looks nice. We're now working on setting up the office.

Last night we had our first fire in the fireplace. It was really pretty! (pictures to come later once I set up my other computer and camera etc.). We tested out our hose in the driveway today. It's as great as we expected.

Anyway, it's been a very busy vacation. Seymen and I are EXHAUSTED. We still haven't solidified our new years plans...but I'm really looking forward to just sitting down and relaxing. Also, looking forward to putting on some nice clothes and heels, that don't involve paint splotches all over ;-)

Anyway, I hope you all have a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! That's all for this year! C-ya!!!!

Happy Holidays!! Vacation is HERE!!!

Only less than half a day to go!!! and I will be FREEEEEEEEEE from work until NEXT YEAR!!! WAHOOOOOOOOOOo

Anyway, I think the pending freedom has gone to the head of my very dear friend Alex. Click here to see Alex.

So, I can't wait to ditch this popsicle stand. We had a team lunch @ Fox's deli and I ate SOOO much that I just want to curl up in a ball and go to sleep. I am so close to having all my work done. All I am waiting for is one upload of my course and then it's QA'ed and then I can GOOO HOME!!! and wrap christmas presents, pack for the christmas weekend, and maybe even crawl into bed and get one last dose of my bed before I have to leave it until Monday...

Anyway, hope you all have a great holiday!!! I think that we are going to have some fun! Starting with our annual family trip before christmas...This year, it's an RV trip to Seneca lake for a wine tour, dinner at Bellhurst Castle, and then a sleep over on the NYS Thruway Rest Stop (because no camp grounds are open ;-) hehehehe! We're the classic trashy RV family ;-) hehehe!)

Root Canal

Well today was my dreaded day for the root canal. It actually wen really well. So well that I came back to work instead of working at home for the rest of the day. Now all I need to do is dose up on Motrin and in a few days I'll be able to eat on the right side of my mouth again!!!

WAHOOOOO!!!!

Painting Complete!

We've finished painting the kitchen. It took 4 days! Friday night, all day saturday, all day sunday, and monday night. Thanks to family and friends we made some great progress! In the past two days, the professional painters took charge of the living room and we now have neutral colors in the house :-)

Here's some pics from night 1 of painting (Friday):

Homeowners!!!

Welll!!! Seymen and I will be homeowners TOMORROW at 12 Noon!! We're going to pick up the keys and do the walk through tomorrow afternoon. Tonight I went with my dad to Home Depot to pick out paint chips to bring home to show Seymen.

The paint choosing process was actually really fast and easy. Seymen and I decided on "Elegant White" for the living room/dining room/bedroom. For the kitchen, we are going to paint it Nuture (a very light green). We are all really excited. My dad and Georgia are going to come with us to the house. This will be my dad's first time seeing the house. I can't wait for him to see it. I told him, he should come, look, see the kitchen and then go home and start building me my Island for the kitchen while I'm at work the rest of the day ;-) hehehe.

Yeah, ohhh well...in a perfect world that would happen...along with alot of others things I always have the best intentions to do ;-)

Family Night

Last night I was feeling like I needed some TLC from my dad...so I went over after work and spent the evening with him and my family. It was actually a really fun night. I spent the early evening before dinner teaching my dad dreamweaver. It's funny working with my dad on things like that. He's so hyped up, and is very comfortable in the programming world. It's the first time in...ever! that I think I actually taught my dad something. I did notice though how his brain worked ten times faster than mine, so as I'd explain something to him, he'd be off analyzing and coming up with the next step and idea. Meanwhile, I was a topic behind him still trying to explain my original thought. :-)

Been A Long Time

Well it's been a long time since I wrote! Pretty much since Thanksgiving things have really become pretty busy. Work will be finally slowing down for a week or two before Christmas (THANK GOD!)...We are finishing a project this week. I'm so excited. I've been planning with the team, and preparing to make a special cake for everyone on the team...a little thank you for working so hard.

This cake is extra special though because it is going to be a "replica" of the T14 Standard Plan (A Typical Ramp Closure!)...I'm making an edible version so the team can stuff the T14 in their mouths ;-) hehehehe...Last night I started making the decorations. I made orange cones and orange signs out of meltable candy wafers. Tonight I am making the white signs, and hopefully chocolate covered pretzels as stands for the signs, so they can stick in the cake.

The BEST part of the cake is the construction vehicle candles that I found at A.C. Moore. I am going to add those on the work zone! ;-) Anyway, stay tuned on Friday for the Caltrans CAKE!!
