Top Hat and Cane

So Seymen and Bill both decided that they are going to wear Tuxedos for the black tie affair. Seymen has decided that if he wears a tux, he also wants to wear and top hat and cane too ;-) hehehehe :-) I'm just glad that he's getting into the black tie affair :-) I was telling my mom that Seymen was going to rent a tux and Bill overheard and got all excited and decided that he would rent or buy one too ;-) He's so excited that he's going shopping for one tomorrow!!! ;-)) My mom in turn decided that she needed to "spice up" her outfit, and has decided on wearing her black velvet pants and her sparkely jacket now that the guys are wearing tuxes :-) Anddd, I finished sewing my red sparkly evening dress...so I think we're ALL set! ;-)

Girls Weekend!

Well I had a true girls weekend :-) Friday night had some girlfriends over after work. We cooked dinner, drank wine, played cards, and Cranium. It was definitly some much needed fun :-)

Saturday was my productive arts and crafts day. I spent the day with Kris, where we took turns completing the "Arts and Crafts" agenda items we listed out in the morning :-) 1. Making wedding flower decorations for my wedding cake...DONE! 2. Fabric shopping at JoAnn's for dresses for Beth and Kris...DONE! 3. Add embellishments to Anaka's costume...DONE! 4. Get Anaka and Addison's Halloween Pictures taken...DONE!! 5. Stop and Wegmans...DONE! 6.Cut out one dress...DONE!

Yup! We did everything we hoped to do. By 12AM I was exhausted but satisfied that I finshed everything I wanted to. This morning, my weekend luck was still running strong. I needed to get some work done, so I worked from 11-4. I actually got EVERYTHING done that I wanted to. I wasn't planning on being able to get it all done, but luck was on my side and I finished. What a relief for the rest of my evening! I was also able to clean the apartment again, finish folding my laundary, and SEW and COMPLETE my dress for next weekend!!! WAHOOOO!!!

I'm really proud of myself that I finished everything :-) Not that I get to take a break, because I don't think I believe in sitting still anymore...Tomorrow night I need to bake Lasagna's for the Halloween Party @ Nate's. Tuesday is the Halloween Party. Wednesday is Sew Kris's dress, and finish up cake decorations...Thursday Cake class...Friday buy and prepare appetizers for Black Tie Affair...Saturday Black tie affair!! and SUNDAY - DIE FROM EXHAUSTION! Noooo more parties until Thanksgiving!! PHewwwwwwww!

Poetic Justice

So I had my cube at work moved last week. I was so excited because I was finally moving up in the world...no more printers right next to my cube! WAHOOOO!!! Everyone came by my new cube and all I did was gloat about the fact that I was no longer next to a printer...

Well...I was just sitting here, and I suddenly heard this strange, yet familar noise...A low humming of a fan...My heart sank into my stomach. I walked around the side of my cube wall...and what do I find? a PRINTER :-((( Not just a small tiny crapper printer...but a BIG HONKER of a printer...a Fax, Copy, Printer!!! WTF?!!??!?! Who's trying to drive me insane?!?

I was so desperate that I hit up Greg to see if he'd switch cubes with me!! (But there was no love there...and I was denied)...So then I tried to stop Jason, IT guy from installing the wires into my cube outlets...but he won that war too...so now I'm stuck with another printer right next to me...I think I'm like that commercial where the people walk around with a scale attached to their ankles...but instead I have a printer ;-))

Puffs Plus

Puffs Plus are seriously the greatest invention in the WORLD! OMG! I caught a bad cold and in the course of one day at work with a stuffy nose and the run of the mill, cheapo kleenex, my poor little nose was all red and sore.

Well, Seymen went to Wegmans yesterday morning to buy me new kleenex and some medicine...he brought home three boxes of Puffs Plus. I spent all day yesterday laying in bed, doped up on Nyquill. I would sleep, wake up for a little bit, send some e-mails, IM with co-workers, and then fall asleep mid-conversation. The whole time I always had a little puffs plus kleenex clutched in my hand or on my nose (even while I slept). Well this morning I woke up and the redness on my nose was gone, and there was no soreness!! Not only did it sooth, but it moisturized too!! And now even though I can barely breathe through my nose, it doesn't look as nasty as it feels!!! :-)

I'm sure you wanted to know all about that...but seriously. I HIGHLY recommend the use of Puffs Plus if your sick...(and of course Nyquill because it makes you feel so wonderful and NOT sick :-)

Ninja's Everywhere

OK...so I spent all day Saturday with Kris buying material and sewing Anaka's ninja costume. It came out SOOOO nice :-) It really looks good...we had her trying on pieces here and there as we finished them before she went to bed...but it took us until after she was fast asleep to actually finish all the pieces. She looks really cute and totally like a ninja. We even made her a bit "girly" too and used sparkely red material for her sash, her arm bands, the trim around her tunic, and little hand gloves. (I have pic. but it's on my cell so I have to download it first)

Anyway, that being said...I just got an IM from Ryan...about another instance of NINJAS. This is getting BAD...there are Ninja's EVERYWHERE!!!! Aggghhhhhhhhhh!!!

Bad Dream

So last night I think I was completely freaked out. The events of the day lead me to have the craziest dreams. I spent some time looking up Ninja costumes for Anaka (which of course I'm scared to death of flying ninjas), I tried to watch LOST on ABC.com, but it was sponsered by the Grudge 2. THe commercials in between were so scary that I had to stop watching and just go to bed instead. Also I was talking to Maki and she was telling me how her cousin was posessed by ghosts.

So, in my dream...I saw Mario Lopez (Must have been the Dancing with the Stars commercial) at what must have been my house. He was dropping off illegal contraband. (I can't even remember what it was)...but he was pimpin' it in a red blazer...then I was in a room laying on the floor. Seymen appeared above me with a cloth. He said (In my dream that is)...I'm sorry baby...but I have to do this...and then he covered my mouth and nose with Chloraform. Even though I was sleeping, I felt myself being totally taken over by the effects of the chloraform. I remember thinking in my dream...Oh my GOD! I'm being chloraformed!!

And then I woke up @ 6:15AM...and went to work...where I spent a day from HELL trying to finish everything so I could work at 1...as I had planned...well at 4:00 I finally left ;-) Guess my "half day" didn't really work out.

Ninja Anaka

So last night Kris and I had a catch up night. She came over with the girls and we cooked dinner and just hung out talking etc. We were talking about Halloween and Ani told me what she was going to be for Halloween: "a costume". Awww :-) No, but for real, she wants to be a Ninja for Halloween! Dan is SOOOO excited! The other day, Anaka mentioned that she might like to be Cinderella and Dan was so crushed...but Ani has been reconvinced that she should be a ninja. :-) So...Kris and I are going to go shopping this week and start sewing her costume on Tuesday night hopefully!! :-)

We have to find a way to make the costume a tad bit more girlie, for Ani...and without using pink :-) But after brainstorming with Kris, I think we will create a little skirt that goes over the pants. It's going to be so much FUN to make the costume :-) She's going to look sooooooooooo cute!!! :-)

I can't believe that I'm actually sewing a ninja costume...given my fears of flying ninjas ;-) But as long as Anaka's feet stay firmly planted on the ground, I think I will be OK :-)

House Excitement

I spoke to my dad on IM today. He seems really excited about the new place :-) He's going to come home from Florida in November to "consult" and help build us stuff! :-) (And teach us how to do it)

Dad: NEAT HOUSE
Dad: Very interesting...and lots of potential
Dad: Seymen can have my 10" radial arm saw as a starter

Seymen's already getting donated TOOLS ;-)) He'll be so excited :-))

I was asking my dad about building an island in the kitchen...He's already giving me directions on what my next steps are :-). I am going to be "Architect Beth" on Thursday :-)

Dad: we should draw up the kitchen first
Me: We're gonna bring a tape measure with us to the inspection
Dad: I have never seen a kitchen with only an island and not a table or booth
Me: I will measure everything and write it down
Dad: OK...measure the whole room, the door and window openings and the cabinets and appliance locations

YEAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!

Big Purchase Day

Today was a big purchase day...Seymen bought a house!!! :-)) Well actually it's more like a condo, but it looks alot like a house...in the city :o) We are still both in shock. We are really excited though. Still not out of the woods yet...we have the inspection on Thursday which is when we will actually find out...but we'll see how that goes...cross your fingers for us!!! We LOVE the place!! :-))

And it's about time too ;-) after over a year of house hunting seriously...we are both relieved to have found something unique, that we like, and that is affordable. WAHOOOOOOOOOOO we're finally moving out of Henrietta!!! (hopefully!!)

Impromptu Party

So I had my first class in Course 3 for cake decorating yesterday. It was fun as always, but I was a bit intimidated since I haven't been in class for a month! It was a good class and we learned some more decorating tips and tricks.

After class I called Seymen, and he was over at our relator's house. They invited me over for a glass of wine, so I drove on over...We ended up having a great time and staying out until 1:30AM! OMG! Ryan and his friends are so fun! It was totally an impromptu Thursday night party :-)

Beautiful Weekend

So it was such nice weather this weekend that Seymen and I totally tried to take advantage of it. Saturday we went apple picking with Chrissy and Jake. We started out picking empire apples, and unbeknownst to us, we ended up moving over to the courtland apple trees ;-) After we filled three bags of apples we went to the raspberry section. They had Yellow Raspberries there! I've never seen those before, but we tried them out and they were delicious. They were really big (bigger than the red ones) and very sweet.

After the picking, we went to the store where we bought homemade doughnuts and apple cider. YUmmmmmy :-) It felt like my childhood all over again :-) I bought a DOZEN doughnuts!! and ate 2 of them in one day ;-) hehehe :-) (Hence, we starting back up at the gym tomorrow morning.)

Saturday evening we had alot of plans. We went to Chau and Thaun's for an authentic vietnamese dinner. It was delicious. Chau is the queen of egg rolls. All the food was so yummmmyyy!!! Afterwards we headed to a Poker party at my co-worker Jeff's house. I didn't actually play because I didn't have time to practice and learn how to play poker. But I watched and played war and uker with Leslie :-) Seymen braved the $5 table though :-) for which I was pretty impressed ;-)

Sunday the weather was so beautiful that Seymen, Chrissy and I went for a nice long bike ride around town. We started from brighton and rode to the UofR, saw the crew boat regatta, and then rode to Park Ave for lunch. Afterwards, we rode back to Brighton, and pretty much I wanted to collapse...but I was strong and didn't ;-) We arrived at home just in time for me to shower and dress for Dave's wedding! Jena invited me as her guest, and we had a great time! Emilios was there and I met a friend of Dave's that used to work with him. The four of us spent the evening together talking and having a great time. The wedding was beautiful, and it was absolutely the PERFECT day for an outside wedding. Dave's wife looked so beautiful and the two of them so happy :-) It was a really nice way to end the weekend.

Date Night

So Seymen and I had our first "Date Night" tonight. We've decided to have a date night once a month. Tonight date night started when Seymen picked me up from home after work. We went to DSW and I bought a pair of black strappy shoes for Dave's wedding. (Seymen contemplated, but decided against a pair of brown sketchers.) Afterwards, we went to Best Buy to check out the 42" LCD TVs. I was pretty unimpressed with the quality. Even with High Def, you can still see the pixalation. No really worth it if your spending a fortune on the TV and then upgrading to High Def Dig. Cable too...so we decided to forgo the crazy TV for now.

After TV shopping we decided to go to Lola for dinner. It was a really lovely dinner just the two of us. We had some really delicious food and good conversation. I think we even made some decisions too (regarding the flat screen TV.) We finished date night after dinner and headed to A-street to visit Seamus. Nate and Jim joined us there for about an hour and half. After that Pita Pit and then home.

It was really a nice night. Half date night, half hanging with Friends. Nate and I solidified the Halloween Party dinner on Halloween.

Dinner:
-Brisket
-Hard rolls with olive oil butter (EVOO, Paramsean cheese, greek olives finely chopped)
-Homemade Ceaser Salad
-French Onion Soup

Dessert:
Chocolate cake with chocolate icing. Strawberries and Whipped Cream on the inside layer. THe top of the cake covered in Strawberry halves. Around the outside (like a fence), Piorettes with a ribbon around it.

Meatball and Chopstick: LOL

New Dress

So I bought a new dress yesterday! Gina came over after work and went shopping with me. She is like my own personal fashion consultant, who likes to shop the same way I do...FAST...speed walking through the mall until we found the right dress. I didn't even bother trying on the other options because this dress (that I bought) was perfect.

The Dress: It's a black strapless dress, with red ribbon along the top, and then a red ribbon across the waist (tie-able in a bow). Along the bottom edge there is red too-too material. It actually looks pretty cute I think. Now, my mission is to buy a new pair of black strappy shoes. Yup! I know I already have so many black shoes...but you can never have enough strappy black shoes :-)
