Giving it a Try
Thanks for the recommendation Shelly! I've added it to our Netflix queue (#95-99)...I'll let you know in 3-4 months when I finally get it and see it ;-) hehehe :-)
Anyway, just a quick update on life since...umm..yesterday afternoon :-) Seymen had the "day off" yesterday for Martin Luther King Jr. Day...meaning, he made it home by 3PM! He actually called me while I was still at work and offered to take my car to the car wash for me! As nice as that was, I decided to give the dude a break, and declined his offer. See, the night before (Sunday night) we had this great notion that since winter finally started and our cars were getting snow and ice on them, that we'd try this de-icer spray my mom bought us for Christmas. Seymen was so excited to try it out that instead of just spraying it on just our rear view mirrors, he'd do it all over the windshield and the side windows of both of our cars!
Well...Monday morning, I woke up, showered, got dressed, brushed my teeth and headed out to my car. With each step I took, the excitement over the new "de-icer" spray grew inside me. I made it to my car and low and be hold...there was snow on the windows. OK, no problem...It wasn't supposed to MELT the snow...so I started me car, grabbed the snow brush and started wiping the snow off...and then I realized...there was this strange, oil-like film on my car windows!?!? I wiped it more with snow brush...nothin'. It was stuck on there making it even HARDER to see through! OK great! So I'm gonna be late for work, but I figure...no biggie. I'll just hop in my car and do a little windshield wiper spray action...So I press the little controller...Nothing happens. The wipers go and go and go, but no liquid...Darn it! I ran out on Sunday on my drive back from the mall. :-((( So I got back out, grabbed some snow from the ground and wiped it on my windshield...Not really helping much, but I could KIND of see...so I just go in and drove off to work.
10 minutes and 3 near death expierences later I arrived at work...surprisingly in one piece. Unfortunately, I spent the day driving back and forth between the two offices. My friend Jonathan took pity on me (or maybe for fear of his own life) and drove me to lunch @ Shiki. (where we met up with Seymen, Jeff, and Nate, who were all working on their day off) Anyway, after work I finally made the treck to the gas station for wiper fluid, and then to delta sonic for a Super Kiss Car Wash (my favorite! I love it when the blue and red stuff squirts on! It smells so good! I LOVEEEEE the car wash!). When I got out and the car had been all wiped down, I looked out of my now spotlessly clean windshield and almost cried with joy at being able to see SOOOO much of the road! What a concept!!! And then I tried my wiper fluid...and out squirted the lovely cleaner!!
What a wonderful way to end a hard day at work :-) When I arrived at home, and Seymen returned from the gym we decided that it would be a good idea to go grocery shopping. We bought tons of good food! and I finally got a new broom (our old one has been relagated to a corner on the outside deck because Seymen did some brooming of outside stuff which probably included bugs of some kind, so I refused to bring it back into the apartment). We cleaned out the fridge, cleaned out the freezer (even scrubbing off this mysterious sticky yellow crap on the door of the freezer that has been there for at least 2-3 years!) Anyway, it's so liberating having a newly cleaned out fridge and freezer! It feels like a fresh start. I love it. Seymen is always proud of me too when I'm in a throw away mood :-)
So, all in all it was a very productive night. I was pleased with the progress that we made in the cleaning effort of our apartment, and then spent the rest of the night reading a book. Hopefully tonight will be as fun and exciting as last night :-)
