QUESTION FOR YA'LL

We were talking at work, and we have no idea what the terminology is when you are blowing your nose and fart at the same time...

If you have any ideas (we can coin a term here too if there's not an official one), leave a comment. We are actually seriously interested in the names. OK! So leave an idea!

Regrets

So last night, after dinner with Dad I went to McGregors and met up with Emily, Leslie, Keith, and Jonathan (LMNK people). Emily was having a night out because she's in town this week (She lives in CA now) and Keith (my old boss) showed up. Anyway, I stayed out too late, and too many substances. When I finally made it back to Seymen's place I was ready to fall asleep, but suddenly I started having a coughing attack. We had a chase around the apartment as he tried to make me drink cough medicine, turkish sudafed and nose drops. He was successful with the cough med. and sudafed, but I prevailed on the nose spray. (YUCK!!! I hate that stuff!!!)

So this morning, I woke up late...I feel tired and "drugged" from the sudafed, and I wish that I stayed at my mom's last night so I didn't disturb Seymen. And now I have 7.5 hours left in the work day. I don't know if I'll make it.

On a good note, my dad told me 8 times yesterday that I looked really good, and skinny. My sister agreed, and I also got compliments from Leslie and Emily...So I think I'm going to forgo the diet. :-P

Fat Free Mayo

I decided to start a diet yesterday...so I went to Wegmans to "Health-a-size" my favorite homemade cesar salad dressing. I substituted the only unhealthy ingrediant in my dressing recipe (Mayo) with FAT FREE MAYO. The jar looks so PRETTY. I was a tad bit skeptical, but I figured, there's freshly pressed garlic in the dressing. Any "FAT FREE" taste will be overpowered by the garlic.

So I get home...and I start cookin' it up. Lemon juice, minced garlic cloves, tiny splash of white whorchester sauce, and FAT FREE MAYO (added last). OK, so I start stirring...hoping that this concotion will eventually stop looking like tapioca pudding...that the CHUNKS will dissapear and the look of it changes from plaster of paris (You remember in Art class, in like 4th or 5th grade, you use the yucky glue stuff with newspaper that feels like and looks like barf? Yea, that stuff is what my dressing looked like) to my normal salad dressing. Well I figured...No, it's fine. I'll just put it on and give it a go. Well the first bite wasn't so bad, and as long as I just kep SHOVING pieces of lettuce in my mouth and didn't think about the aftertaste, I was fine...but once I had the AFTERTASTE...I was done...So...the HEALTH-A-SIZED salad thing is OUTTTT!!! Tastes like BUTT! BE WARNED! DON'T USE FAT FREE MAYO! IT'S NOT WORTH IT. STICK WITH THE LIGHT. 2GRAMS OF FAT CAN'T HURT THAAAAAAAT MUCH!!!

Snart

Do you know what a snart is? It's when a person sneezes and farts at the same time. I just learned to terminology today. (I think) It was Jena who informed me of this new vocabulary word today during lunch. Do you think I should teach that to my ESL student? hehehe :-)

Also, another exciting note: I got another student! I'm going to teach Thaun's wife, Chau on Tuesday nights! :-) Yipppeeee!!!

Dave: hey beth, thanks for the extra piece of chicken!
Beth: I did that?
Dave: Yup! You did :-)

10 Ugly Men

***NOTE: Pictures have been posted for 10 Ugly Men****

So this weekend was CRAZYYYYY!!! Friday night, Seymen and I decided to take it slow in preperation for Saturday morning. We went with the guys and Maki to Shiki for dinner, and then rented two movies from Blockbuster (Million Doller Baby, and Hitch). We were both beat and feeling a little sick, so we ended up just crashing and not even watching the movies.

Saturday morning I woke up BRIGHT and EARLY! Sooooooo excited for 10 Ugly Men. Seymen was a little slower to wake up, but we finally got up and at 'em. Nate arrived and we headed to Jena's for Bagels and Coffee. We were running a bit late, so we had to eat really fast and run. We made it to the parking lot OK, and as we made our way to the volunteer tent, we were able to pick up more and more people from our group. After a LOT of confusion, we finally registered and headed to our station. We were assigned to the food tent. Somehow, Jena, Cathy, AnG and I thought it would be fun to volunteer for the HARDEST job ;-). We ended up being Servers...Where we took people's orders and ran and got them their meat. Everyone else seemed to have the right idea when they picked their jobs (greeters and security). ALl they had to do was move people into the correct line, stand together and drink beer ;-) But it worked out. I actually had the most fun being a server, running around like a chicken with my head cut off. We met a ton of people and formed this strange bond with the other servers. By the end of the day, we (I) were hugging anyone in sight. Screaming at the top of our lungs and drinking FREE beer!! It was an absolutely BEAUTIFUL day too! It was so warm, and sunny...Poor AnG got stuck behind the burger grill so she had a mouth full of smoke all day. But we all got really into our jobs. By the time our shift was over (at 1:00PM) we tried to relax and take a break...but I think we were still pumped, so Jena and I jumped in again and helped out until 4PM. AnG and Cathy re-appeared at one point, and then suddenly Nate had joined in as well! It was great :-) I saw a bunch of people from Irondequoit, and from LMNK. Seymen had his own fun with his friends on the sidelines. They would come over periodically to refill my beer or take candid shots ;-)

By the time we left, around 5 we were all BEAT. Oh yeah, and pretty intoxicated too. Nate was our DD. He didn't drink so he was able to drive us home in Seymens car. Goood thing he left his truck at our apartment, otherwise he wouldn't have been able to get home! Once home, we both felt like JUNK. After a shower, we decided that the best thing for us would be GREASY pizza hut pizza. Jena called after her power nap, but was too tired to come over and eat our pizza...so she order one at her place and we "ate together". Well actually, I ate mine first and passed out before hers arrived...but same difference right? :-)

So, that was pretty much it. I laid in bed all night and woke up at like 9AM feeling like a BRAND new person! My english class was cancelled for the day at the last minute, so Seymen and I tackeled the laundry room and started cleaning out the old. We threw away about 3 boxes of stuff! Which was excellent progress. Ryan showed up later in the day and moved most of his furniture out. Afterwards, we headed over to his new house to check it out. (I can't believe he bought a house. It's WEIRD that our friends are old enough to do that!! So strange:-). Anyway, we then tried to resume our usual Sunday night schedule with dinner at mom's.

So that's about it! Now it's back to the grind. Tonight we're going to the red wings baseball game! So that should be fun and exciting! I can't wait to eat peanuts and cotton candy...and bang those noise makers :-) That's my favorite part! (Because honestly, I don't really like baseball...It's kind of BORING to me)

Unbuttoning my Jeans

So I just came back from lunch and I am so NOT comfortable. My stomache is protruding out from above the waist of my jeans. I decided that I was STARVING to DEATH this morning before I left for lunch. So Jena and I went to Full Belly Deli. Well let me just tell you. True to it's name, my belly is FULLLLLLLL. So full that I just unbuttoned the top button on my jeans. Why oh why did I decide that today would be a good day to wear my jeans...I'm wishing I went for the sundress. Gaaahhh.

Anyway, last night after my english class, I went to Jake's baseball game with Chrissy. We decided (with my mom's encouragement) to bring Peakers. (That's one of her nicknames...another very popular nickname for the puppy is: poop-isss.) Anyway, it was a good game even though they lost. It was close though 2-3. Anyway, Peake wouldn't sit still so I took her walking in the field behind the bleachers. I felt so much like my mom. A ton of little kids came over to pet her and play with her. At one point, a mother of these two twin girls called out: "Come on girls, tell the nice lady thank you for petting the dog". I was like: "Who's the nice lady? Where's my mom?" Very stange :-) Anyway, it was fun and I think we tired the poopiss out because she went to sleep on the kitchen floor when we got home. SHe was so cute by the end of the night. She was all dirty at the game...with a black spot on the top of her head from walking under the cars, and a little mud dried on her sweet little black nose...and dusty dirt all over her fur...Awwwww she's sooooooo cute :-)

Temple Building

So Seymen and Ed had an appointment to look at the Temple Building Apartments and asked me to come along so I could see what they looked like. Well of course they were beautiful...but now I'm depressed:

BopsB: I'm depressed now
Seymen: why ?
BopsB: Because it was like a teaser...
Seymen: awww
BopsB: Like here's an amazing apartment that you CAN'T live in!
BopsB: ;-)

Ohh well...It was awesome to see them...And after a little more research, we found another loft apartment building in the same area that is MUCH more affordable. Seymen made an appointment already to go look at them! Unfortunately, I can't go :-*( Because I have a meeting from 11:30-1:15pm tomorrow :-((

Black Mood

Good morning...It's back to work today :-( I definitely woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. I had a temper tantrum to myself over my closet. I couldn't find my favorite black pants, and started freaking out. I pulled my chair over to my closet, climbed up, and just started throwing shirts, pants, skirts, all over my bed in an effort to locate the pants. Once I had successfully cleared out the top of my closet I started in on my sister's side...Digging, trying to find them...After 15 minutes of that, and a long string of very COLORFUL words, I happened to check the hooks under my bathrobe. Oppss...There were my pants. At this point I was risking being VERY late for work, so I just finished dressing and headed to my car. Bill was up with the puppy when I came downstairs...I think he must have witnessed my temper tantrum because I think he was laughing at me. :-)

Anyway, let's get over the black mood and back up to Friday night. Well after work I headed out to Quimby's for Keith's going away happy hour. It was fun, had 2 Gunisses there...Carrie and I left together, dropped off my car and hung out until dinner @ House of Sushi. We met up with everyone and finally ate dinner aroudn 9:30pm. I had to leave at 10 to meet Jena and Seymen at the toad...So I walked from HoS...Unfortunately, everyone was late...but Kirsten and Justin we're already there waiting too...So I sat with them until everyone arrived. Within 10-15 minutes, the HoS crowd showed up at the toad, and then AnG and Cathy FINALLY showed up ;-) (We were a bit impatient for our reunion ;-) But anyway, I did really really well! Throughout the entire night I had 3 Gunisses, 2 lemon drop shots, and a bloody mary. Seymen was sooooooo happy with me because I was good when we finally went home! While I was out I ran into two of my neighbors from East Parkway! One at Quimbys and one at the Old toad! It was so funny :-)

Anyway, Saturday was an EXCELLENT day! Seymen had the WHOLE day off of work!! AND no one from Fuji called ALLLLL Day!!!! :-) It was great! We woke up and went to breakfast on Park Ave. Afterwards, we headed to Eastview mall and bought Seymen some new glasses. (Finally!!! And they look sooo niceee!) Afterwards, we hit up Wegmans and Chase Pitkins for cleaning supplies and putty. We did a deep clean of his bathroom, and then patched some holes in the closet in the apartment where a shelf had fallen down. (The putty was sooo cool too because it was pink and turns white when it's dry...What an awesome concept ;-) After that we went to Shiki for dinner to see Maki, and then to the movies to Mr. and Mrs. Smith. WOW! What a great movie! We both loved it! It was really funny...

Sunday, Seymen was supposed to go to the dogs while I taught English. Unfortunately, he was called into the office on his way to the dogs...So he worked all afternoon. When I came home from English, Chrissy and I went back out to Eastview mall and had a VERY successful shopping trip at Old Navy :-) When we came home, we made dinner for Mom, Bill, and Seymen. It was delicious:

Pasta with Brocolli and Scallops
Steak
Salad w/ Homemade garlic balsamic dressing
green beans

Poor Bill was stung 5 times by some ground bees when working outside Sunday morning. So, in an effort to make his pain better, we piled into the car and went to Abbots for ice cream ;-) Chrissy and I then had movie night (Calander Girls) for the evening.

Ohh yeah...we had to cancel the white water rafting trip...(I was silently thanking god...because I didn't have any shorts or my bathsuit, and I was kind of scared ;-)

Final words from Keith

Finally, to my long-suffering team: thank you for abiding a manager who wasn't entirely sure of himself a lot of the time.

Happy Hours RESUME!

Thus commences another saddest day at LMNK. Today is my manager Keith's last day :-((((((((( I'm very sad...BUT on a good note, we are celebrating his leaving (with him of course) with a happy hour after work at Quimbys. Afterwards, dinner with him, and then I will head downtown to meet up with AnG, Cathy, and Jena...and Seymen and his buddies will also show up at some point! :-) So it should be a BUSY and PACKED night of DRINKING! (No apple-tini's tonight. I promised Seymen)

Anyway, must go now. My e-mail threw up on me with preparation for my newest/next course!!! Yipppeee!!! I have COE's next week, and have to prepare the design document by Monday EOD! Wahooooooooooo! Finally!! My own project!!! :-))) Life is good! Anyway, have a GREAT weekend everyone! I definitely will ;-)

Yahoo Launch Cast Plus Issues

So I'm having MAJOR issues with Yahoo Launch Cast Plus! I use it as my muscial entertainment at work, and it keeps CRASHING on me! I'm going slightly insane from being without music for 10 minutes!! (I know...I know...Patience is NOT my best virtue.) Anyway, it signed on for one second, and started to play "Picture" on of my "favorite" country songs. I was just about to start singing along (silently with no voice because I'm a good cube neighbor) and it CRASHED AGAIN!! And now it just keeps switching between WELCOME and CONNECTING TO YAHOO AS BETHATLMNK...I am DEFINITLY going insane!!!!

OK...I think it's back...but it might be a fake out. OK...Good, it wasn't a fake out. I can concentrate again ;-) hehehe :-)

Week of Vacation!

Hi!!! I'm back from my week of vacation!!! Phewww! What a fun filled week!! It all started with our 4th of July BBQ at my mom's house. (See picture album: 4th of July). The day after the BBQ, I left on my camping trip with LMNK friends. We had SOOOOOOOOOO much fun!!! It was just crazy FUN!! Jena and I really "roughed it" too!! Our double airmattress wouldn't inflate, so we spent two nights on sticks and rocks. You'll see more stories in the pictures that I PROMISE to post today when I finally make it to my house and computer. Until then, check out the pictures on Alex's site (These are from his and Jena's camera) and Kirsten's site.

Thursday, Seymen and I flew to Tucson, AZ. That too was packed with activities. We spent all day Friday making appointments so that we finally see our friend Eric from college. When we finally made it back to the hotel around 3:30pm, we practically RAN to the pool and laid in the sun until 6:30ish? Afterwards, we were so tired we fell asleep without eating dinner! Saturday morning, we woke up but couldn't force ourselves outside, so we missed out on the little pool time we had before our Spa appointments. We spent a good 4 hours at the Spa. We had to be there at 12:45pm and we left around 5. We then had an hour to find a grocery store to buy flowers for Eric's mom, and find his house again. We spent a really enjoyable evening with her, cooking, eating, and talking. It was really a nice time, and we were so glad that we finally were able to meet her and get to know her.

Last night, we arrived back in Rochester at 12:30AM. We were worried that our bags hadn't arrived with us, due to a tight connection in Chicago, and for some reason my bags made it but Seymen's bag was lost somewhere in the Mid-west. He should get it sometime today :-)

Getting Nervous

Only one more full day, and it's off for the camping trip. Seymen and I spent the afternoon at my mom's house. When mom and Bill came home from crusing, they sent us to Wegmans to buy dinner food. We also bought supplies for the camping trip. Hershey's bars, cheez-its, sun chips in a red bag, charcoal, plates, cups, utentsils, napkins, TP, that sort of stuff. Chrissy finally come home too. She was only home for about 15 minutes before we had to leave for Wegmans, but she like my hair cut and the highlights. Both are pretty subtle, so she was a fan. My mom liked the highlights as well.

Anyway, I'm getting really nervous about the camping trip. Seymen is "betting" that I come home after the first night. He said that he'll believe it when he see's it, that I'm a good camper ;o) But it's all good. I think I'll be OK. I bought a bottle of bug spray, I"m taking his sleeping bag, and my dad's Chevy Envoy...So if things get rough, in the car Beth will sleep ;-) Every minute that passes, I'm feeling more and more excited about Tucson...The lap of luxury compared to the great outdoors. But then, doesn't that make me WELL ROUNDED for this vacation?!?

Let's see. I had my 2nd meeting and first official class with my learner. I think it went really well! She said that I was a "cool" teacher, and she is so happy that I am her teacher. (It was definitely the pastel colored index cards, and the crayola markers that I impressed her ;-) We use those for vocabulary words that we put into an evelope with our names on them ;-) Anyway, I'm very excited for the teaching. She seemed to like the content for the next few lessons that I have planned. Unfortunately, she's a bit more advanced than the books that I planned on using...so I will have to re-visit the Literacy Library when I return from vacation...I think that I need more "grammer books". But we learned about road tests, and filling out job applications today...so it was productive and informative to her. Oh and I met her son. He's adorable. He looks like all the Turkish childeren I've seen at the Turkish society...with these HUGE chocolate chip eyes. He wouldn't really talk to me, but he would smile and wave, then run behind his mom and peek at me :-)

So tomorrow will should be a nice holiday day for us as well. We're having a BBQ at my mom's house. Just a small one with a few friends, but it'll be nice to sit outside and soak in the rays, float in the poool and play with the puppy.

Anyway, gotta go. Seymen is making fun of my typing. Good night!!

Spa Itinerary

Yeayyy!! We had a really nice Saturday today. The weather was perfect, in the mid 70s so we were able to sit outside on Park Ave and have a nice, enjoyable breakfast/lunch just the two of us. Afterwards, we browsed this African Art Museum where Seymen found some cool ideas for gifts for his parents. Afterwards, we headed out to the mall to buy shorts for him (for AZ), and new sunglasses for me! Yup! They are pink. He's getting slightly concerned because I'm kind of having a sunglasses fetish right now ;-)...But since I am FINALLY wearing contacts, it's so fun to wear sunglasses! Anyway, he bought me a pair of pink fossil sunglasses...(with no bling bling on the sides...but they are still cute).

Now, we are back at the office. I gave Seymen the go ahead for us to stay here all night if we have to, so he doesn't have to work tomorrow. But we'll see. I think he WANTS to work tomorrow, since he did his duty and went shopping with me today ;-)

Anyway, I just called the spa at La Paloma and made reservations for our spa treatments!

1:00pm - Massage
2:15pm - Lunch/Sauna/Whirlpool Time
3:15pm - Pedicures
3:45pm - Manicure for Beth, Sauna/Whirlpool time for Seymen :-)
Later that evening, dinner with Eric's mom.

YIpppppppppppeeeeeeeee!!! I'm soooooooooooo excited!!! I can almost SMELL the freshness of the hotel room!!! I Can't wait!!! I love vacation time!! OK, now I'm going to go read a new book that I just got.
