One more thing
One more thing...I forgot to mention this before. Seymen won the Platinum award at Fuji. It is a great honor because it is an award given to only one Fuji employee. (I think...) Anyway, he is the only one at E-systems that received this award. But as a reward, he receives an extra day of vacation and a travel voucher for lots of money to go on vacation ANYWHERE in the WORLD :-))) We were talking about it this weekend, and we have narrowed the options down to four places :-) 1. Japan (but Maki has to come with us) 2. Egypt (because that's where Seymen has always dreamed about going) 3. Korea (to search for my birth mother...Not my idea but Seymen's idea) 4. Hawaii (that's Seymen's back up idea).
He also keeps threatening me though...Saying that I have to be nice to him...otherwise he'll take the certificate and go to Amsterdam by himself... ;-)

Memorial Day Weekend
Hi! Hope you all had a great long weekend! Ours was pretty busy. Friday night we decided to take it slow and rent movies :-) Consistent with the theme of Asian Kung-Foo type movies, we rented House of Flying Daggers. (EXCELLENT MOVIE!!) Actually, everyone was sick this weekend. Nate just came back from Mexico and the doctor thinks that he might have Ecoli! EKEKEEEKK! We went over Saturday afternoon to visit him and keep him company for a little bit. Afterwards, we had family night at my mom's house. Chrissy was home and after dinner we went to Walmart and bought supplies for Lucy's present. Seymen, mom, and Bill spent the night playing Whiz-bang while Chrissy and I started and COMPLETED Lucy's Scrapbook! It's so cute! All pink :-) Anyway, I am very relieved because I have been so behind on EVERYTHING since I moved home! Anyway, we had a sleep over at mom's Saturday night. Sunday during the day, we had the first sail of the summer. Even though it was FREEZING COLD, it was really a nice day Sunday, and the sun was out so even though I had to wear my green puffy jacket it felt WONDERFUL! :-)
Monday, we had a BBQ at Nate's house. Everyone showed up! Even Maki who came home from Japan Sunday night at like 9PM. Poor Maki was so tired though, that after we all ate dinner Maki fell asleep on the couch! She even slept through the X-Box Tournament!
Sooo...now it's Tuesday. I have a meeting with the Literacy Council of Rochester at 11:30 for the volunteer job. (I again, for the 3rd monday in a row, had to reject lunch at Shiki with Alex...Poor Alex...he's going to get really discouraged soon ;-) Tonight is Girls Night with Carrie and Tori. Thursday Grandma and Grandpa arrive in town. Seymen, Maki, and I have Grandpa Duty. We're going to take him out for a night on the town while mom and Grandma go to the theater. Ohh and LUCY and STEPHY are coming in a WEEK and a HALF! I can't wait :-)))

Wow
Wow!!! I really got some sleep last night. I think I fell asleep around 10, and I am totally CHIPPER this morning :-) I am sitting here at my cube, and over the loud speaker they are calling for my boss. My friend Nate is sitting out in the waiting area for his INTERVIEW!! I walked past twice in the off chance that he would look up so I could wave and send him subliminal good luck messages...but unfortunately he didn't look up. He's reading a magazine. The worse part about it is that I don't think Keith is in the building. He's not on IM, and his office door is shut. There's a pretty good chance that he's over at 140 (the other building) and there's always the chance that he forgot that he had the interview. :-( But who knows. I have this compelling need to keep walking past the reception area...but that's no good. I should concentrate on staying at my desk.
Last night I went to happy hour. Emily is back in town for the week. She was sent by LMNK to California--San Jose, to be a visual contact in the Cisco offices, the same time that I moved to Texas. Actually, she moved like the same week that I was moving. Anyway...she's back in town so we had a happy hour last night. I stayed for only an hour or so. (Saving up for today...because there's another one today) It has been decided by everyone else that TONIGHT I am going to do shots :-) Yes...we are reminiscing of of times past when Beth would have shots...and get really drunk ;-) LIke for example, Steve's going away party... :-)
Oppss...I have to go to the bathroom! Guess I have to do another walk by! I'll write again later!

Pure Exhaustion
Hi...I'm totally exhausted. It was a pretty crazy weekend, and week. Last night Mom and Bill finally came home from Colorado!! Bayley and I were so excited. I picked them up from the airport at 11:45...but it took an hour for the airline to let them know that their bags didn't make it. We arrived at home around 1AM and then sat up talking until 2. Bayley and I fighting one another for Mom's attention. (She's such a brat ;-) If mom was talking to me, she'd bark until my mom made contact with her :-) Why is it that even our dog has attention issues?!?!)
Anyway, I'm just so happy they are home. (Who would've thought I'd miss them that much!) Bill wasn't even mad at me that the pool had turned because I "conveniently" forgot to check it and add chemicals :-) The big news from the trip is that our family friends who were in Boulder for an Oddsey of the Mind World Tournament, their son Micha is on the team for Irondequoit High School...Well they won for their division! There were 60 schools within their division! That's pretty cool :-)
Last night we met up with RIT friends for dinner. They were going to Dinosaur BBQ (no where close to BBQ in TX)...but Seymen was CRAVING it all weekend after watching a special on the food network or something. (Even the fact that G.W Bush was there two days ago didn't dissuade him from wanting to go! ;-) Anyway, we met up with them and we had a major break-through! Our friend Z actually left his apartment and met up with us! He's been living all alone in seclusion for over a year. It was good to see him. He's still the same sarcastic guy :-) Also, I finally was able to see Anaka! (Dan's daughter) She's ADORABLE!! She's 15 months old. I haven't seen her since before I left for Texas...so she is just so big compared to the last time I saw her. She was so active!! She was walking all over the table! Her favorite thing was to stand on my legs (not on the bench) and dance around :-) Liz and I went to the bathroom to change her diper at one point. She started crying because she didn't want to lay down. Liz and I kept saying: "Ohhh...your OK...Good girl...Almost done." She would cry say: "OOOOOkkkkkaaayyyy....Dooooonnneeee". It was so cute :-) Let's see...Nate has an interview at Element K on Friday with my boss!!! (Crossing my fingers for him!!!)
Stephy and Lucy are coming home in two weeks. I'm very excited for that. And Maki called again from Japan last night, and she's going to come back to Rochester on Sunday night. I could hear her niece laughing and googling in the background :-)
Anyway, my thoughts are all scattered today from no sleep. And I better get back to work...because I have a BUNCH of activities to storyboard by tonight so I can go to Happy Hour after work. The good news is that I heard a rumor that the kick off my new project is probably going to be next week. Wahhhoooo! :-)

Need a Laugh?
Tori forwarded this message to me...and I thought some of these were funny enough to laugh out loud. Here's my favorites :-)

Condolences
Well, yesterday turned out to be a very sad day...We found out that Maki's Grandma in Japan died yesterday afternoon. Pooor Maki, she is so sad. Seymen and I decided to forgo the festivities so that we could be with her, help her pack, spend time with her so she wasn't alone. This morning at 5:30 we took her to the airport so she can go home to Japan for a week or so. The good news is, her family has decided to wait on the services so that she can participate first thing Saturday morning. She should arrive in Fukiyoko (spell?) on Friday night. (That's crazy right, since she's leaving on Thursday!) Anyway, all I can say is that we hope that what little we were able to do for Maki, helped.
In turn, she was more worried about the fact that it was my b-day, and she was going to miss it. So, we had an impromptu party with the three of us at her place. Maki bought me new PJs from VS, and a VERY special Star braclet that matches the one that she wears. She's also going to buy me a star cell phone charm in Japan that matches hers. :-) Seymen, who went shopping with Maki, bought me a really cute...REAL coach purse! It's green (my fav. color of course) with little lady bugs and rhinestones. Soooo cute :-) This is my first REAL anything purse. Maki informed Seymen, who in turn informed me, that this is a turning point in my life. Everyone goes through stages and by turning 25, my fake Gucci's are OUT. COMPLETELY. ;-) <--Those are Maki's exact words by the way :-)
Ok, so now I'm back at Seymen's apartment...and I'm going to go back to sleep until 8:30. Poor Seymen had to go straight into work. Last night was another push...but Seymen took the night off for me, so that we could spend my birthday together. Many thanks to Nate and Thaun who had to stay all night (still there this morning when I left Seymen at the office @ 6AM) and let Seymen have the night off...and even more Thanks to Nate because he's leaving for Mexico in 15 minutes.

Home ALONE!!
Hi!! Well today is the first day in the week and a half that I'll be home alone. Mom went to Colorado and Bill is in Philly and then Colorado. Bayley is at the dog sitters (since I'm at work all day, and scared to stay at the house alone--so I will be staying with Seymen and Maki for the next week). But I'm kind of happy that they left because I have the option of 3 cars now! Today I had my choice of two cars...My car or Bill's. So of couse I chose Bill's car :-) (Even though it has less than a 1/4 a tank of gas). Tonight I will have a choice of three cars, once I go get my mom's car at the airport! Wahoo...What a sad life I lead.
Let's see...Last night I had dinner with Carrie. It was her first day at her new job, so we met and offically started our "hanging-out together time" that we have to do now since we won't see one another at work anymore. Tonight is girls night with Maki and Chau. We're going to the mall to buy b-day presents for my mom, dinner, and then FINALLY going to see Monster-In-Law!!! I'm very excited. I can't wait to see it!!! Seymen is also VERYYYYYYYYY excited because now he doesn't have to see it with me ;-)
And then...Tomorrow...is a very...VERYYYYYY...VERYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY special day!!!! A quarter of a century ago...The world was changed...DRAMATICALLY...BETH WAS BORN!!! Well actually, at the time I was: "Park, Young Mee"...but same difference :o) Seymen and Maki organized a drinking get together for me tomorrow night at Mex. I'm very excited :o) I keep inviting people. Even people I don't know ;-) Just kidding :oD But I think it'll be fun :o) I've already decided that it's going to be an Apple-Tini night...so it definitly won't be TOO late of a night. About an hour actually ;-) since my tolerance for Apple-Tini's has dissapeared since moving to Texas. I've been out of practice. OK. Gotta go. One more hour to kill until Girls Night Commences!

So Tireddd
Hi! I hope you had a great weekend!! My weekend was packed full of FUN :-) Friday I happy-hour-ed it up...all night long. Seymen met Carrie and I out on A-Street later in the night (after the 1st happy hour where 6 girls, including one very pregnant friend of ours--who's due date was last friday--sat and consumed 7 plates of bar food. Yes, it was pretty disgusting, yet astonishing as well. We have before and after pictures of the foold :-) Anyway, we spent the rest of the evening hanging out at Montey's Corner with Carrie, my boss Keith, another friend of his that's leaving the company, Reda, and Ellie. It was fun, but I was pretty tired and done with drinking by 11, so Seymen took Carrie and I home.
Saturday, continuing on with the "Best Boyfriend Title", Seymen and I spent the day together, running errands and just being together. We went to the ford dealership (Cortese Dodge) to look at and test drive the New Mustangs. Unfortunately, we encountered some really bad salemenship, so we drove off in a Tizzy. Seymen is now renouncing Cortese Dodge, and reinforcing his decision to buy Japanese cars and NEVER buy an American car again. :-) Saturday night we had a BBQ in the rain at Dan's house for Ben's going away to Chicago party. It was really fun!! We ate yummy food, and then watch this Asian Martial Arts movie...which I have to admit I was not so keen on the idea and tried to sneak the Italian Job into the DVD player, but they caught me...Anyway, it was a REALLY good movie! I loved it! We (Seymen and I) spent the rest of the weekend making references to the Blind Massuer. hehehe...In the end, we ended up borrowing another movie -- HERO with Jet Li and the young girl from Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. I'm very excited to see that.
Sunday, Seymen went to the dogs (his volunteer job) and I went home and watched Lifetime from my bed. Then my mom dragged me up and we took Bayley for a walk, which then made us late leaving the house to pick up Seymen to head to Buffalo. But we made it, had dinner at a really nice restaurant, and then went to Chrissy and Jake's new apartment for birthday cake! Their apartment is SOOO nice!!! They have the same apartment types as (My old) Seymen's apartment! They don't have the exact layout that we have, the took the middle apartment layout without the W/D hookups, but it is SOOOOOOOOOOO nice, and SOOOOOOOO much nicer than their old place in the Triads. Chrissy is pretty excited because when she saw our apartment the first time, she loved it and hated hers. Supposedly, the designs for her apartment are from Rochester. They are called the "Rochester Designs" :-) But anyway, it looks really nice, and I'm slightly jelouse because I can't live in my old apartment, and Chrissy's is all nice and clean and new etc. ;-) When we arrived back in ROchester, we dropped off Seymen at Hylan place, and by the time I got to Irond. Seymen had called and invited me to a movie with him and his friends...So I ran changed into a sweatshirt and jeans and drove over to the movies at 10:30! We saw the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe. It was cute, not the BEST movie ever, but definitly cute. So I didn't fall asleep until almost 2AM. Now I'm beat, drinking coke to wake up, and considering taking my hair down because it's irratating me.

Sore Jaw
My jaw is sore and giving me a headache because I've been chewing too much gum! I bought this yummy new Extra flavor--Cool Green Apple-- I think I love it too much though because I'm in a lot of pain.
So today is the day is a sad/happy day all around. It's Janet's last day at GB today! It's good for her that she's moving on, but it's sad because now I can't imagine where she is when I think about her :-) Another sad/happy day is happening here today too...It's Carrie's last day LMNK :-( I'm so sad because I'll miss her at work, but it's good for her to be moving out of here too :-) So...to my two good friends, I will be having 2 drinks at happy hour tonight, in both of your honor...And then I'll have a couple more after that because Seymen promised to pick me up ;-)

One more thing...
I was just thinking of one more thing that I wanted to say...I really miss lunch @ GB! I miss sitting outside at Central Market, or at our picnic tables where we just sat and talked and laughed. I miss you guys :-) I wish I could go to Old Navy w/ ya'll...or Central Market and freak out over the Grackels!

Cube Re-Org
Hi! Well it's Thursday! I'm almost done with my first week back :-) I have nothing to do this morning, so I just took the time to re-organize my new cube. I've changed everything so it is accessible on the right side. I thought that is what I wanted, but now that it's there, it feels slightly uncomfortable. But it looks cuter organized on the right, not so random...and I should get comfortable with it in a little bit...Anyway...now I'm done re-org-ing and I'm just sitting here looking at it :-) Oh and can I tell you best thing ever about YahooIM?? You can listen to LAUNCHcast Radio from it! I'm listening to...surprise surprise--Country Music! :-) It's so much better than repeating 1 CD for 6 months at a time. (Yes I know it's because I'm lazy!)
Anyway, what else is new? Well yesterday I called the Literacy Council of Rochester, and I have a meeting with the director on the 24th about the tutoring ESL students...I found free Turkish classes in Syracuse (which I'm slightly considering since they are free, and the gas to get me there each week is still cheaper than Spring Learning Center...but I'm still debating on that one. So far, I haven't found any other teachers in the Rochester area--other than my old teacher).
I was chatting with Jeff the other day, about how Seymen's looking to buy an apartment, and he mentioned he saw an ad on LMNKs P-News DB...so I checked it out and sent it to Seymen. He was all excited and called me to tell me that's one of the buildings he was interested in! He really liked that building and he is mad at his realtor for not sending him there in the first place! Anyway, he contacted the person selling, and we are going to go check it out on Monday afternoon! We'll see what it's like. They have a doorman too! ;-) And the big seller for me...a Jacuzzi Bathtub in the Master bedroom :-) hehehe. So, we're excited to do that.
Last night all of Seymen's friends were pre-occupied (which worked out really well because my two sets of dinner plans fell through), so he and Maki came out to my mom's and we all went to the Char-Pit on the lake. (It's sooooooooo yummyyy...The best cheeseburgers and onion rings in the summer) Well yesterday during lunch, I decided to start my healthy lunch kick...I went to Wegmans and had like 5 pieces of lettuce. (OK, I'm exaggerating a bit, but it was really small)...so I was starving by dinner time. When Seymen ordered Two Cheeseburgers I was motivated to order two cheeseburgers myself, and onion rings. Well I packed all of that away...but I guess my stomache is not used to that much food because then I spent the rest of the night sick. I had to make Seymen and Maki leave because I felt so junky. Then I made my mom sit in bed with me and watch Lifetime TV :-) I must have fallen asleep though because I don't know what happened at the end of the movie :-(

Happy Time!!
Hi!! I think everyday that passes since I started working again (this is day 2 only...I know) I am getting happier and happier :-) Carrie came back to work today! In my honor, she wore a Pink Texas Cowgirl T-shirt :-) Just because she was so excited that I was going to be at work!!! Carrie, Dave, and I went to Cerrame's for lunch today :-) It was so yummyyy! I'm getting back into my reuben fetish, and of course a shared plate of french fries with Carrie. I'm so sad that she's leaving. But she'll still be close enough that we can go to lunch together...and of course going out on weekends...but we have vowed no more Nasty-D's. ;-)
Anyway, work is good. Slightly less to do today because Mike is back and taking care of his own assets...but he did get a little bogged down so I was able to do some of them for him. Also, I have been making a fake storyboard to familiarize myself with storyboarding in XML (That is new since I left). But it's easy as pie so I'm happy about that. I put pictures in my cube up today too...I even had a taker for looking at my GB scrapbook--Cause I brought that to work too ;-)
Let's see...what else? Well I'm getting pretty excited because in 8 days from now I'll be 25!! I'm excited for that! Alex said that he'd come out to celebrate!!! :-) OK...I gotta go.

Back to Work
Well I'm FINALLY back to work! :-) It felt like forever since I've put in an honest day of hard work!!! It was great to be back at LMNK. It felt like coming home offically. I saw a bunch of friends, and even Alex was able to pop over to my cube twice since he had meetings in my building. The sad part is that we have moved from the 140CV bld. to 500, so we are seperated from the GDs and some more of my friends, and to be honest, my cube is pretty lacking compared to my old one at 140...and DEFINITLY smaller compared to my GB one! But it'll feel better once I bring my decorations in.
It was probably one of the best first days ever. I got in and did the benefits orientation. Then they sat me at my cube, and right away we had about 78 assets that needed reviewing...so I spent half an hour figuring out the new database (so much as changed!) and the rest of the day until I left reviewing assets. It was wonderful! I felt useful!! It almost felt like I never left once I got into the groove! Anyway, projects are coming down the line soon so that'll be nice and I can jump back in with two feet. My boss Keith kept coming over and patting my shoulder telling me: "We're so happy that you've come back to us" :-)
Anyway, it was really nice. My mood-o-meter has increased by at least 50%. I am sure it will increase another 50% tomorrow when Carrie is back in the office. I have her for a week before she leaves to go to her new company! It's just like old times...there's a going away happy hour for Carrie on Friday night...so that'll be really fun, and a great opportunity to talk to everyone and just relax. :-) Jeff (my old cube mate) has requested that I wear my pink cowboy hat to work tomorrow, but I have to refuse. I'm not quite ready to make an ass out of myself yet...give it time ;-)
So, now I have BIG plans for the night. Dinner with Seymen and then it is the premeire of a lifetime movie tonight: "Confessions of an American Bride". Maki and I are having Lifetime TV night and sleepover at her apartment. SO I have to go pack and find some cube decorations so I don't feel so EMPTY tomorrow ;-)
More later! See yaaa!

Welcome Home
Hi! I've been slacking with the blogging since I came home :-) I have received a number of e-mails, and even one phone call requesting that I blog ;-) Soooo...here I am!! :-) I'm back in New York!!! It just started warming up here too! I even went out last night in my flip flops. Although my little toes were frozen by the end of the night, and I had to blast the heat so I could feel them to drive, I was quite excited to be able to wear them!
I've definitely succeeded in disrupting everyone's life in the two days that I am here, but my mom and Bill are taking it into stride, and my mom only had to hint once that when I was READY, I could move the boxes in the basement so we can walk through it. I actually went a step above and beyond yesterday, because I was bored out of my mind, and re-arranged the WHOLE basement! And even moved my REALLY REALLY heavy bed all by myself! (Yes, I am very proud of that.) Anyway, it looks really good and you can walk from one end to the other now! You can even see the TV while sitting on one of three couches ;-)
So, last night I set some new goals for myself. I've been kind of depressed about loosing my life in Texas. (I know that is my own fault and one of my chosing, but I guess you can realize how much I really did enjoy Austin, and my friends...and my apartment.) I've also have a rough two days trying to remember that it would be a BAD thing if I came back here and everything fell into the same routine that I left. I have to keep reminding myself that this uncomfortable feeling of "being mis-placed" in my own home town, is OK. It's good actually, because now is my opportunity to make Rochester what I wasn't for me before my Austin Expereince. So...my new goal that I set last night is: Make Rochester my old Austin.
I actually woke up this morning feeling really rested, and happy, and motivated...(well after I watched a movie on TV...then I was motivated) Last night, I started looking up apartments for myself. My mom and I discussed it, and it seems like it might be a better idea for me to look for a 1 bedroom/studio apt. for now until September. I found a bunch downtown--all studios, but are really cheap on my new budget till September. That gives me hope :-) Not that I don't like living with my mom, but it's so far away from work, and I just feel pretty unsettled. Oh yeah, and did I tell you my sister is moving home for a month in the summer, so we have to share a bed together for a month? :-) As fun as that might be for the first week, I am sure that Chrissy and I would be hating each other by the end of the month ;-)
So anyway, now I have to go out to the mall and buy a mother's day present, birthday present for Jake, and birthday present for my mom.

Final Day on the Road
Hi!! Welll!!! Seymen and I had many adventures since I last wrote. I succeeded in my task of taking a picture of the Mississippi, but it's not that good because the railing was in the way. A while later, we stopped in Salem, IL for lunch. After lunch, I took over driving and Seymen worked for a little bit. About 25 minutes out of Salem, I realized that I left my purse at the restaurant...so we had to turn back and go pick it up.
But aside from that little hiccup in our travelling, we made it to Chicago by 7:00pm. We did get a little lost on North Lake Shore Drive, but it was worth it because we drive all the way down the Magnificant Mile. It was so beautiful. We called the hotel, and redirected ourselves. The Drake was AMAZING. It's a very beautiful hotel! We had a "Lake-View Room" so the big pitcture window looked out over Lake Michigan. We decided to meet Vir (my friend from RIT -- We worked in New Hampy together at Aprisma) and Adam (Seymen's friend from RIT -- Seymen was his RA Sophmore year), at the hotel looby at 8:30. Adam showed up first, and we sat with him catching up, exchanging news about the other guys in the group of "Seymen's Boys" (That's what my mom named that group)...Anyway, Vir took a little longer to arrive. I called him to make sure he knew where to meet us and his response: "Dude...The Drake is not my usual hang out...I'm almost there" :-) (You have to imagine him with an Indian/Thailand accent to make it feel like it does for me) :-)
Anyway, when we all were together, we headed out into the "Windy City" (And it was REALLY windy and cold!!) We walked all around downtown and finally found the Brazilian Steak House that we were hunting for. Originally, we thought it was going to be Fo-go-de-Chaos. But we realized that it was Sal Del Carvaos when we arrived. Either way, it was ABSOLUTLY DELICIOUS! We ate so much meat. We decided to forego the salad bar so we could have that much more space for the meats. There were 14 different types of meat. Mostly steak, but chicken, pork, and lamb as well. God, was it good. We all just sat there and ate and ate and ate. We even stopped and took a break, walked upstairs to the bar area for a little exercise, and then came back down for Rapid Round Two of meat!! HEHEHE We ended up closing the place down. We stayed until about 10:30.
Adam and Vir walked us past the Super McDonalds, that has like millions of flat screen TVs and I just can't describe it. It was huge, two stories, HUGE arches :-) We also walked past the Original Uno's restaurant. WE then walked along the "Magificant Mile" with every store possible, including the Apple Store which was all glass. Glass stairs, a big glass Apple Logo on the front. It was very impressive. We then went to the Signature room/longue for drinks. This is located in the 2nd tallest building in Chicago. It is on the top floor - 96th floor. The elevator makes it up to the top of building in about 30 seconds. The only weird part is that your ears pop the whole ride up!
When you get to the top you can see EVERYTHING!! It's just lights that never end. Supposedly, on really clear days you can see three seperate states. It was really amazing. Vir and Adam pointed out Oprera's apartment, the Navy Pier, the Sears Tower (Which is the tallest building in Chicago). It was sooooooo cool!!! Seymen loved it. He sat in nhis chair and kept explaining how he was going to move to Chicago and get an apartment in a building like this, and come to the Signature Longue every night for a drink :-)
We were an easy sell for Vir and Adam :-) THey are continually recruiting friends to move to Chicago. Adam already convinced one of the guys Ben to move. We're going to his going away party when we get back to Rochester,
Anyway, we're on the road again. We just passed through South Bend, Indiana. We have no idea how long it's going to take us to get back today. According to yahoo maps, it should take us 9 hours and 17 minutes...but Adam and Vir said anywhere between 9 and 12 hours. Then we realized this morning, that there's an hour time change somewhere in Ohio, so we have to calculate for that. We are supposed to stop in Buffalo and have dinner with CHrissy and Jake, but we'll have to see what time we get in. THen tonight we have to help my mom re-arrange the basement for all my stuff that is arriving on the moving truck bright and early tomorrow...at 8 or 9AM. Wahooo :-) I can't wait to get home :-)

Day 2 Arkansas/MIssori/Illinois
Hi! We're on the road for our 2nd day! We made it to Memphis, AR at 10:30pm last night with very few mishaps (after we leave Austin that is). We are currently driving on a construction filled interstate road. I'm supposed to be watching out for the Mississippi River so we can take a picture. Seymen has only seen it in the movies, so he wanted to see it for real. We're supposed to cross it when we leave Missori.
We just stopped in Hayti, Missori and bought gas (and try #2 on peppered beef jerky --which was another failure)...and let me tell you! It was so cheap! $1.95!! Seymen suggested that we buy gas cans and attach them to the side of the car so we can make sure of the cheap gas :-)
Anyway, the drive is going really well. Seymen won't let me drive (is my driving THAT bad??) but I think it's because he doesn't want to sit here and be bored out of his mind...like me...I'm sitting here plotting how I can access my rolly suitcase in my truck, that I so smartly packed so that I cannot take it out without emptying half of my trunk. Unfortuantely, I forgot that the rest of the country (outside of Texas) is FREEZING cold, so I need to get into my bag to get my coat. Oh yeah, and a pair of nice jeans since we're going to a nice hotel...I don't think my sweat pants (compliments of Chrissy from U. Buffalo) or my favorite ripped jeans will do for the Drake. Ohh well...I have 6 hours to figure it out :-)
Anyway, the plan for tonight is to go shopping and then out to dinner, hopefully meeting up with Vir :-) Supposedly he lives 5 minutes from the Miracle Mile...I'm so excited to see him!!! It's been forever.
OK, I have to go pay attention now. I think we're getting closer to a state line soon. Byeee!!!

On the Road
Hi! I am currently wiriting this from I-35 between Austin and Waco, TX. How am I accomplishing this, you ask? Well...the answer is via Fuji's Satellite connection with Verizon Wireless! Seymen brought a special wireless card with him for our road trip. We have internet connection in the car!! What an excellent way to make the trip home!
Anyway, Seymen arrived on Friday night with no problems, no delays! (Amazing right?) Saturday morning we gor up and cleaned my apartment and finished up there...dropped off keys and ran errands until noon, where we met Shelly, Jamie, and Janet at Chedder's for lunch. It was fun, but sad because I had to say goodbye to Janet. Afterwards, Shelly, Jamie, Seymen and I went to Fry's Electronic to check it out :-) We spent a good hour or maybe two...I bought a new game cube game - Charlle's Angels, and Seymen bought the Penn and Teller Bullshit DVDs. (Which I didn't think I'd like but they are very amusing and interesting).
For dinner we went to Tracy and Ozans and shared some Sacconi's pizza. It was fun, and Ozan showed us pictures of the "bathroom" in the airport of Sybieria! (He's been there!!!) It was a really nice way to my last night in Texas. Afterwards, we hung out with Jennifer and Li Wei. Seymen did some computer work while Jennifer and I sat watching and laughing.
This morning, we went to Jims for breakfast (which Shelly and Jamie introduced me to a few weeks ago) where we ran into...SHELLY and JAMIE! Can you imagine??!? :-) Anyway, I think I shocked the pants off Shelly when I walked oup to her table :-) But it was awesome to see them one more time, and they were able to meet Jennifer and Li Wei. Turns out that Jamie works for a Twianise (speilling?) company here in Austin, that Li Wei and Jennifer are familar with!
So, it was sad again saying goodbye to Shel and Jamie again, and then a little bit later I had to say bye to jennnifer and li wei. But we had decided to not say goodbye, so we just hugged quick and Seymen and I drove off...
So...10 minutes into our road trip I had to pee...What else is new? We had a fun adventure finding a bathroom in time...but we found one and each bought a pair of cool sunglasses. Again, we headed out on the road, and another 15 minutes later we were pulled over and Seymen got a speeding ticket. :-((( 1 down, 29 more hours to gooo!
Poor Seymen. I felt really bad for him...but he's not as upset now because he thinks that he won't get NYS points with this ticket...just have to pay $$$. So, we just passed the 309 Mile marker. I guess I'll sign off now because I have nothing else new...But I'll be on again, as we drive, just because I can! :-)
Oh yeah...Did I tell you that I'm so sad right now? I am really going to miss Austin, and I really made some GREAT friends while here. If this past week was proof of it?!?! I spent the week visiting each one of my friends every night! So now I'm sad!!! Because we all had so much fun together...So, to all my Texas friends that are reading this: I miss all ya'lls already...
